Yoooo.. What's up Hova! Been a minute. I remember hooping with you in the old OS vets leagues damn near a decade ago. Ahh...what good times with pared, chaseb, momentous, strtstuntin, richmo and the crew. Good to see the grind father is still lurking on these boards. The return of the online association is bringing out all the OG online league guys from out the shadows of the abyss after such a long drought.

2k...If you build it they will come.

Re: MLO Community: Today We Party Like it's 1999

Bugs are inevitable given the sheer amount of content they packed into MLO in one cycle. What we can't have are the game league-breaking bugs that prevent the OA from advancing season to season like we dealt with on last Gen. In the Dev blog, it seems that simballer and his crew personally played and tested the mode given the level of detail and excitement that he expressed. We have complained about the bare bones nature of MLO from the 2k16 to 18 iterations, but one thing they were unequivocally praised for was the stability of the servers. I can count on one hand how many disconnects I personally experienced through 10 twenty nine game seasons that my MLO members played. The 2k servers for MLO were amazing in its stability and relatively smooth and input lag free servers for the past two years.

With all the money the game continues to rack in, as the user base, especially the online user base continues to grow, I'm sure 2ks investments in the server infrastructure have as well. These numbers below are just remarkable for a franchise that was once the underdog in the basketball triple A title market.

I mean, it's August 4th, I think I've played about 80 park games in total.

I'm not sure why but the first online mode I tried was park last year and it was just, yea..

Then went to pro am and it was disconnects and losing friends in lobbies etc etc.

Servers aren't as bad as they used to be but upon release I don't have huge expectations (for any game really)...but I feel like I never get into an online league, especially not an in-depth expansive one, on release, for the simple fact that there's so much time and devotion you can put into it and lose due to shaky servers.

I don't think they use the same servers for MLO which is why he specified MLO servers. My friends and I are almost finished with season 4 in our MLO and I can say the same that theres been no lag after hundreds of games played and only maybe 2 dc's that I can think of. Im pretty sure the run on completely separate servers. Could also be due to the relatively lack of people that play MLO compared to the park etc, but whatever the reason the MLO servers are near-flawless.

I’ve played 5 seasons of 58 games(12 min qtrs). If you do the math that’s over 300 hours of online league games. I can’t even remember one game that disconnected due to shaky servers. The servers is an old argument. Also, if you do happen to have a d/c there’s a reset game or give win/loss option for league admins to use.

Welcome to the community of online leagues, if you find yourself a well dedicated/organized league I can guarantee you will not regret it. The issue is finding one rather than joining a random league with no communication setup. Those leagues are destined to fail. Also, don’t join a random fantasy draft league. Those leagues are simply for people who like to draft but fail %99.9 of the time.

I run a highly organized/dedicated league with a deep waitlist on PS4. If you are on Xbox I can lead you towards another highly organized league. If you find a good league you enjoy stick with it because they are hard to find.

Nothing beats a good active league.

Re: MLO Community: Today We Party Like it's 1999

Question for you folks- I have never played a game of NBA 2K online. I have been deditcated to offline Myleague. However, with the inclusion of a fully-functional MLO option, I am ready to make the jump.

Do we have the option to play online/MLO from a broadcast camera? Or are we forced to use 2K cam?

Thanks!

Any camera you want, same gameplay options as a normal offline game. 2k cam though >

Swim- Thank you for your response. Could you add me to your MLO wait list? I’ve been around these forums for many years and would love to learn more about your SIM MLO.

Thank you!
