With the statement that the only difference between offline and online ML is player training im really excited to find how/if Start in Offseason works in MLO, it would pretty much be an alternate universe offseason, would LeBron go to a different team, would Cousins get signed by the Warriors, would Kawhi end up getting traded, so many possibilities!

I definitely need to find a good league this year. This is really exciting.

Welcome to the community of online leagues, if you find yourself a well dedicated/organized league I can guarantee you will not regret it. The issue is finding one rather than joining a random league with no communication setup. Those leagues are destined to fail. Also, don’t join a random fantasy draft league. Those leagues are simply for people who like to draft but fail %99.9 of the time.

I run a highly organized/dedicated league with a deep waitlist on PS4. If you are on Xbox I can lead you towards another highly organized league. If you find a good league you enjoy stick with it because they are hard to find.

Nothing beats a good active league.

I'm also skeptical that it will run perfectly, but at least the intent is good. In the last few years the MLO community was pretty much completely ignored.

I still think they release the game too early and there's a chance the first month or two might be rough. Heck....Pro AM wasn't working right until November or December of last year. But they'll likely get it together.

That's a good point. The execution at release has been lacking in previous years.

Just have to hope for the best, but definitely agree that the intent is a stride forward.

So, we can use custom rosters in MLO now? Is that confirmed? I want to use SimWorld in an MLO!

Yes you have been able to use custom rosters since 2k15 leagues. This was the secret workaround to how MLOs were able to survive in the dark days of the next gen 2k14 and 15 broken leagues, cuz if you could customize a roster, you could edit progressions and regressions. Even more crazy was the fact that we had to manually add our draft classes to the custom roster since we didnt have draft class uploads. Ugh, those days nearly broke my will to carry on. Fast forward to 16-18 and 2k automated progressions and regressions in MLOs so the custom roster was only needed for niche things like a legends league or even college league if you wanted to get frisky lol. I even saw someone on youtube create a Drew League MLO lmao. The possibilities of this mode are endless if you let your imagination run wild!

Draft class uploads have been in as well since the mode was stabilized. My MLO has been huge fans of the simworld draft classes. The quality and attention to detail of those draft classes, in addition to the storylines that they provided really enhanced the immersion. I still remember Derwin Armani Blackshear aka DAB take our 2k17 MLO by storm in the latter seasons. Unfortunately, the simworld draft classes dried up in content this cycle. I think they only released 2 this entire cycle. Fortunately, the community stepped up with plenty of amazing draft classes that we used throughout our 10 seasons. There is absolutely no reason to use 2ks out of the box draft classes when the community blows those out of the water in terms of quality and detail.

Re: MLO Community: Today We Party Like it's 1999

So I play MyLeague like it's my day job, but I never tried MLO becuase I heard so many negative things.

So a question for you guys that play - what's the best way to find a league? And how do the leagues usually work for time commitment? Will leagues say you have to play X number of game sa week?

Didnt want to start a whole thread, but thought this would be a good spot to ask. Thanks!
