Also they are obviously using some older assets, so hopefully as we get deeper into "next - gen" they retool and refresh their stock body types.

We'll likely never get 1:1 body types so complaining that they aren't exactly like the real life person is futile. I know someone will come in here and claim modders have managed to do it, but that is disingenuous when all they are doing is altering the ones already in - game (not making them from scratch).

The colors being off is something they've struggled with in previous 2K's especially jumping from one generation to the next. Hopefully it'll be figured out with having to mute how vibrant the overall game looks (IMO).

Guys like Giannis, LeBron, and Leonard have very unique body types that 2k has managed to resemble in the game. Actually most of the biggest stars in the league have realistic body types. However Tatum for some reason just has a generic CAP body type

It has been proven (by modders going through the files) that they don't in fact have unique body types and use a base set of 4 or 5 for the entire league.

They obviously are going to use the most "appropriate" or "realistic" for the stars but they aren't 100% accurate.

Tatum likely needs to be given a better body type that better represents him, but it'll never be a 1:1 representation of the real player.

2k just needs to come out and scale it back or the audience need to accept the fact that 2k can’t keep up with player changes the way we want. As an avid 2k player and I watch a lot of games, so many guys are off in game that I no longer expect them to be able to keep up with the changes, yes Trent Jr is an eyesore but was Jerami Grant but but how long did it take to update him. Tobias has longer hair and no head band, a ton of players need to be updated. Terrence Ferguson of 76ers has been cut his hair past 2 years but he still remains with the longer hair. The part that kills me is how modders can update on the fly but 2k can’t?

They redid Richaun Holmes and his face looks better, but his hair looks terrible. His dreads are shiny which makes no sense, and he still doesn’t have his headband.

Re: NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Art Feedback Thread

For a “next gen” game this fell well short. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt as you could argue it was a cross gen game as they are almost identical in every way but tweaked lighting. 2k22 will be the true test. I’ll be honest though I’m expecting more of the same, huge focus on money making modes like myteam card packs and crap like that and little to no focus on keeping players looks and accessories current.
