NBA 2K22 Gameplay Trailer - Plenty More Gameplay Details Coming Tomorrow

I don’t want my suspicions and fear for this game to be true because I need a sports game, but the trailer didn’t help..

I havent seen anything as of yet that has made me want to crossover to nextgen.. ps5 still in the box.. nothing about the trailer hyped me up, looks like 2k21 IMO.. animations look a bit smoother, but I got nothing else after.

Really wish they would get rid of the dribble spin combined with the wrap behind the back animation that the WNBA player did.

Its silly IMO that because someone does a move once in real life now everybody in 2k with the same dribble package has the capability to do said move

Those type of animations should be locked behind their “my player seasons” thing they are promoting this year cause i imagine thats the crowd this is clamoring the most to have those one-off animations included into 2K anyways

I'm trying to figure out why you have a PS5 still in the box. If you have a digital library, the games can still take advantage of the extra horsepower of the PS5.

I been in-between using it and selling it.. I'm my younger days I use to game a lot more, but now with my career as a biochemist. I just don't have the time to game like I use to. I bought the console for the purpose of 2k games honestly, but haven't really been excited enough to open it. Was hoping for new grand theft auto.. but I will see.

To the point of some who are realising they just don't get hyped for these anymore, point taken and it's human nature when each year it's pretty much the same. Usually a heavy focus on sweat. However, 2k12 with the classic teams definitely got me hyped. You'd think with a 75th year anniversary game where 2 legends are on the cover, there's ways to show off new elements with those legends.

Maybe for once actually having improved upon old arenas, face scans or added something like a mascot from a specific era. Then gameplay wise, show a new type of celebration that was a trademark of a legend. Have a legendary PG throw a lob to a current star and vice versa. I think a cross-over trailer with legends and current players would be way more hyped, IF they actually improved upon things.

They could also choose to actually show different vantage points that are camera options in-game more. Have some background hype commentary from in-game commentators like they do for real intros in the arena.

Here's what I would do:

Show off an empty blacked out arena where Luka, Dirk and Kareem appear on the court. Then slowly build up tension, some smoke, fireworks, PA announcer (introductions), show off the arena with a camera going around, work with some lights, revealing a mascot, other players, maybe off of the 50 greatest players or potential new ones, and then zoom in on the big screen where a trailer is shown with a mix of all modes so park, streets, indoors, wnba etc. Could have some Voice Over by EJ and some hype reactions by actual in-game commentators to some of the action.

That would get me hyped! Even without showing classic players in the actual footage, but show us something new at least...not just sweat and the usual celebrations, spin moves and dunks. We know that already. There are ways to do these trailers differently!
