I'm starting to think the whole "Built from the ground up for next gen" marketing is really starting to come back to haunt them. It created a unrealistic expectation of the game. I'll be the first to admit that I was hooked on the marketing. I don't regret my overall purchase of my console, but I was kind of expecting more from the game from a gameplay perspective. Especially when you compare NBA 2K21 to NBA 2K14 or even NBA 2K6. The gameplay experience jump between generations felt huge.

The only thing I want from this game is much improved off ball defense. Fix the pick and roll and help defense logic. If they do this I’ll be very happy. Since czar is in charge of defense this year, I think we’ll see some nice improvements!

I bought next-gen 2k21 --- looks amazing in trailers. This is the same old sluggish, stiff, running in mud player movement. People say alot of bad things about Madden, and much of it rightfully so. But 2k puts out the same rehashed stuff, as well, IMO. They just have a better reputation than EA ...

You can see Lonzo on the Pelicans and Bulls in one trailer.

Luka’s arm glitches on the rebound. Lamelo’s hand passes through the defenders like a ghost, and you can hilariously see Ja Morant with 127 points and 17 steals in his dunk highlight, because they clearly raised all the sliders to get the ball back to dunk 64 times to finally get a useable animation.

No MVP in the trailer. No champs. Just dumb cheeseball superteams.

Luka does a “3 to the dome” celebration which he never does.

Non existent quality control. Do these guys watch the NBA? Game is gonna be trash, I’m really starting to feel it.
