I got to the hole no problem. Unlike 21’s arcade ease, it takes some strategy and it feels real, feels physical. But it’s very doable. Of course that’s with two of the best drivers ever. Not sure how the other fare.

If they nerf this, they’ll screw it all up. It’s phenomenal right now.
With the improved rotations and help it won’t screw anything up.

Mj was an elite athlete you shouldn’t need moves to get to your spots with him. Same goes for guys like lavine/foxx in today’s game or Schroeder to a lesser extent who all have great first steps. NBA’s all about freedom of movement and running bigs off the floor but you don’t see that on 2k.

Yeah guys attempt amd succeed with straight line drives all the time in the NBA at least when it comes to getting to a spot. Getting off/making a shot is a different story

I think the drive game in 2K22 against the AI is missing hip ride animations. Its either you get stonewalled or you get by the guy in similar fashion to the auto-shed blocking that plagues madden.

Is there a definitive answer on whether or not certain badges affect tendencies in addition to attributes? I've always wondered but I've never known for sure.

Some people might disagree with me, but I think hip-riding animations are a must. It allows the defender to engage the slasher and makes it feel like the players have mass and can physically interact with each other.

I think there are two groups of people. The you can do it if you do this folks, and the this is how it happens in real life folks.

2k22 has more physical play and bumping on the perimeter then any game I can remember. Some players can drive in real life without doing shake moves because they are fast, strong, and have basic handle. The idea that everything is a dribble breakdown is not realistic.

Andre Drummond’s of the world are a lot more valuable then need be. Ratings and which personnel to play are the most important part of the game to me. If you can fill the floor with bigs and 3 point shooters because everyone can play defense then its subtraction by addition.

Agreed. I think another thing that could be improved is the angle of the attack off the bounce (currently a little too wide and makes the court feel smaller than what it is) but that goes in kind with the lack of hip ride animations. 2K needs to decreas the amount of space that dribble animations take up.

Would eventually like to see a “close control” dribbling mechanic similar to the one in FIFA. This will allow more granularity in user ball handling when splitting ball screens and similar situations

Re: Speed Difference

Lack of turnovers has always been a problem in basketball video games. We really need some non steal turnovers like bad passes that go out of bounds.
