I’ve seen too many players get upset that they didn’t get a call, so they didn’t get back on defense—multiple times with my players. Can’t say that I’ve seen MJ do that. Ask yourself what was his weakness…then ask yourself when that weakness cost him big games or big series: that’s another point people overlook. I’m glad he’s the cover athlete for 2K23.

Absolute facts. What truly separates MJ is his defense. And to be the highest PPG scorer in history AND still get back on defense better than about anyone else and lead the league in scoring AND steals nearly every year, break records for most blocks by a guard, etc. etc. What?! DPOY and MVP in the same year, etc. Jerry West said what people don’t realize is MJ’s defense was just as great as his offense. I believe he said he’s the best wing defender of all time in terms of capability.

I know it’s grainy low res footage but I’ve so intensely obsessed about the washed colors of 2K21 I am pretty sure 2K23 is looking washed. That hardwood looks cold and icy like 21 hardwood, the green jerseys don’t look as popping as 2K22 Celtics jerseys. Hopefully I’m wrong and it all comes together in the final product.

It doesn’t look 2K21 bad but I’m predicting we’re gonna see another washed out effect. 2K22 did very well in fixing that.

This is why you can’t compare Bron or Kobe to how MJ withstands time. I don’t think Bron or Kobe’s silhouette will be adorned by players at all in 20 years. MJ is literally on current jerseys. This is a huge mind share and relevance factor for new gens.

Now someone can say “well that’s simply just a brand to people now” but even then, ask yourself if a brand designed with a silhouette of LeBron or Kobe jumping, would be nearly as revered. The brand derived from the player and legacy. I’d argue in 20 years, no doubt MJ will still be more relevant in terms of legacy than Bron and certainly Kobe. Bron will have a big nostalgia factor though since his era spans so much time and age groups. But imo in 20 years when new kids are hammering at his legacy like some try to do to MJ now, it’ll deflate his relevance as a player and he won’t be talked about close to as much as MJ is now. But by then I assume he’ll (LeBron) be known more for his business and possibly social endeavors, being a team owner, etc.
They won’t be adorned “at all”?

That’s simply untrue for obvious reasons lol.

I mean his silhouette (logo) specifically. It’s “adorned” all over by people, it’s on jerseys etc. As far as I know, the others don’t have logos/silhouettes to be adorned at all.

Does anyone remember when did Jordan make the cover athletes reaction?

I know what you mean. The Jumpman logo is on basketball jerseys, football jerseys, soccer jerseys, baseball apparel, and is also worn in boxing, racing, golf, and by a finalist in this year’s Wimbledon tennis championship. And that’s just naming a few.
