This might have me sold already. I was prepared to wait it out this year but I'm a sucker for challenge modes like the Jordan Challenge. I hope in future years they continue to offer similar modes, whether they are player specific or just various moments throughout NBA history.

I long thought this should have been a staple whenever they had a specific legend edition. It feels like a Kobe Challenge could have been so attainable considering the resources they already had (a number of Kobe Lakers teams already present, just about every legend necessary to re-create the 1998 All-Star Game for a MJ vs. Kobe moment, the Redeem Team, etc.)

Modes like that, if well done (big emphasis on "if"), would be a heck of a lure for me year in and year out. There's been a number of years where gameplay is mostly the same-ish and it's been somewhat tough to tell iterations apart, but picking up a game for its Kobe Challenge one year, MJ Challenge the next, Kareem Challenge the following, dare I say a Wilt Challenge somewhere down the line too, would be such a rad differentiator.

Always dope when 2K provides more offline content.

Can’t lie, I kind of have Jordan fatigue at this point so this didn’t send my hype meter into orbit…

but 2K season is always exciting nonetheless
