Re: 2013 Draft Class Prospects for 2k13

Cody Zeller(C 7-0 240 Indiana)Top 2 (IMO number 1 pick)

Strengths-High Basketball IQ.He's every coaches dream on the court always make the right pass or has a post move always up his sleeve.Good FT shooter for a 7'0.Has an old school game that would make Tim Duncan grin from ear to ear.Good offensive rebounder.Fundamentally sound like no other. Can finish around the rim with either hand.Natural feel for the game makes everything looks effortlessly.

Weakness-Needs to put on more muscle.Needs to be willing to get in the post just a little bit more. When he adds size his toughness will improve.

Re: 2013 Draft Class Prospects for 2k13

Myck Kabongo(PG 6-1 180 Texas) 15-20 pick in first round

Strengths-Very quick point guard.Has good quickness and is a leader of the team.Quick reflexes which helps him in the passing lanes.Pass first point guard who has alot of flashy passes. You name it behind the back no look bounce pass Myck can do it.Good pick and roll PG which is rare at his age.Understands the game well know how to control the tempo of the game.A floor general gets his respect from his teammates.

Weakness-Lacks the needed jump shot to make it to the next level.Has an average mid range and not that good from 3.Needs to put on a little bit more weight if he plans on finishing around the rim at the next level. His flashiness comes to haunt him at times. Will go for the no look rather than making the simple chest past.Low defensive awareness can't defend off screens and goes for the steal alot rather than playing the ball.Needs to get his head in the game on the defensive end.

Re: 2013 Draft Class Prospects for 2k13

Rakeem Christmas(PF 6-9 240 Syracuse)Late 1st round

Strengths-Good mid range shot.Has a great athleticism for his size.Great face up game.Plays every play like it's his last.Finish around the rim with aggression.Good on the rebound.

Weakness-Like most young athletic players he uses his athleticism alot and it's his biggest problem.Because of the Rakeem lacks the feel for the game. Not a good back to the basket player more of a face up player.Average from the FT line.Lacks fundamentals.

Re: 2013 Draft Class Prospects for 2k13

Kenny Boynton(6-2 190 Florida)Late 2nd round

Strengths-Decent athleticism.Has good quickness coming off the edge.Clutch player closed out big games at Florida.Very coachable has good intangibles.Good on the defensive end.Can score in bunches.

Weakness-While Kenny strength is his scoring its also his weakness. He tends to forget about teammates and jack horrible shots.Think Lou Williams when it comes to this even if it not his night he will continue to shoot to get out of a funk.More of a combo guard than a PG.Doesn't have the skill of a true floor general.More consistent jump shot.Average ball handling and court vision.Doesn't get to the line or basket well settles for jumpers.

Re: 2013 Draft Class Prospects for 2k13

Lorenzo Brown(SG 6-5 190 NC State)Mid First Round-Late 1st

Strengths-Great rebounder for his position.Decent passer.Good mid range shot.Has great size since he at PG(6'5).Can defend your point guard or the 2 man.Great ball handler.Has a natural feel the game never seem to play uncomfortable.Gets blocks not alot but more than enough for his position.Has good hands on defense always playing the passing lanes coming up with steals.Understands the tempo of the game

Weakness-Average athlete doesn't have alot of speed or quickness uses his size to get where needs to go.Not a true PG not really a 2 guard neither. He's to passive to play the 2 and just doesn't seem like he fits well at the 1 at times.More of a tweener(Tyreke Evans,Younger D-Wade,Rodney Stuckey.) Turns over the ball alot.Needs to be willing to put his head down and go to the basket more.Needs to add about 10 pounds a little thin for his position at the next level.

Re: 2013 Draft Class Prospects for 2k13

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Birthday: 2/18/93
NBA Position: Shooting Guard
Class: Sophomore
Ht: 6-6
Wt: 200
Hometown: Greenville, GA
College: Georgia

Strengths: Caldwell-Pope is an offensive minded guard with very good upside as an off-ball scorer … Has nice size on the perimeter at 6’6 and seems to have good length and a frame that should easily be able to get to around 205-210 lbs without any loss of athleticism … Possesses very smooth athleticism and is pretty fluid in his movements … Has solid leaping skills and can play above the rim, especially with a head of steam … Offensively, Caldwell-Pope is mainly known as a shooter who will let it fly in any situation … Attempted 6.7 3’s a night as a Fr., which showed his freedom early in his career and it will probably allow him to be more confident next season for UGA … Has all the tools to be a very good shooting prospect for a team, with the size to get shots off, a high release point, and a reasonably quick release and steady follow through … Already has NBA range on his shot, and is best spotting up, but will shoot from that deep off the dribble and off screens … Shoots a pretty ball and definitely possesses a soft touch … Is a good mid-range shooter too, but he prefers the deep ball … Was a bit of a streak shooter as a Fr., but he is a constant threat with his shot to the D and must be guarded tight when he has the ball … Doesn’t do a bad job finishing around the rim for a guy who is mostly lauded for his potential as a shooter … Is a rangy strider and shows potential getting a step on defenders off 1 dribble to get his shots off … Has a lot of upside and confidence, and should only improve offensively with the experience he garnered as a true Fr … Is good at getting a good jump in the passing lanes to get steals … Pretty fundamentally sound defender who is competitive on that end … Very willing and effective rebounder for a wing player … Slightly more physical than he’s given credit for … Really looks likely to blossom in the near future as a player, solid worker and wants to improve ...

Weaknesses: For a guy who was a very highly touted shooter/player out of HS, Caldwell-Pope struggled with his efficiency as a Fr … He has the tools to eventually be a big threat with his shot, but he has plenty of kinks … He has a natural shot, but he is prone to taking contested shots with a hand in his face and doesn’t show very good shot selection yet … Needs time and space to be most effective with his stroke, doesn’t react to tight D or closeouts that well right now … He also presses, and will try and shoot himself out of slumps even if better shots can be found later in the shot clock for himself and teammates … UGA needed immediate scoring from him and he had a much shorter leash than Fr. typically do, and it showed with his decisions quite a bit … Falls in love with his jumper, doesn’t put the ball on the floor often enough at all … Actually was better the closer he was to the rim last year, but doesn’t have the handles or willingness to slash to take advantage of it that often … Isnt more than a basic straight line ball-handler, not going to break down a defense off the bounce much…Got to the foul line at a poor rate (2.5 ftpg) for a guy who played 32 mpg and put up 12 shots per game, and was he only hit 65% of his free throws, showing the massive improvements he needs to make … Not very strong or big right now, still growing into his body … Can be prone to falling asleep defensively, as a result of his youth and inexperience … Doesn’t pass the ball much ...

Overall: Caldwell-Pope showed a lot of promise as a Fr., playing big minutes and being relied on heavily as a Fr. in the SEC … He is a natural when it comes to putting up points and his jumper really could take big steps in terms of efficiency this upcoming season … He will be relied on just as heavily, if not more, in 12-13 so he will need to continue to mature and grow … Right now he’s not quite polished and needs to show more ability putting the ball on the floor, but the has the talent to be a very good player and intriguing prospect in the near future ...

Re: 2013 Draft Class Prospects for 2k13

Tony Mitchell

Birthday: 4/7/92
NBA Position: SF/PF
Class: Sophomore
Ht: 6-8
Wt: 235
Hometown: Dallas, TX
College: North Texas

Strengths: Athletic combo forward with an intriguing skill-set ... Runs the court extremely well and is a frequent target for lob passes in transition ... Solid size for either forward position, standing about 6'8" with a long wingspan ... Displays the quickness/versatility to guard multiple positions at the next level ... Blocks a lot of shots (averaging 3.0 per game at the time this profile was written) and creates a lot of turnovers ... Really tough to score against at the college level, and has the potential to be an even better defender with added experience ... Is a relentless rebounder both offensively and defensively ... Already has a 20-20 game under his belt (February 11th at Florida Atlantic) ... Solid scorer as a freshman ... Has become a proficient spot-up shooter out to the college three-point line ... Is quick and decisive in the post ... Faces up well against slower defenders ... Active without the ball ... Creates opportunities for himself by making strong cuts to the basket ... Has solid instincts as a passer ... Plays the game with a lot of passion on both sides of the court ...

Weaknesses: Could be a good small forward or power forward in the future, but has yet to really establish himself as one or the other ... Needs to prove that his shooting numbers this season (45.7% on less than two three-point attempts per game) aren't a fluke ... Looks like he's become more comfortable putting the ball on the floor, but isn't the type to take his defender off the dribble a lot during games ... Too right-handed dependent on drives … Turnover-prone ... Can let his intensity get the best of him at times, which can lead to a lot of mistakes and unnecessary fouls ... Isn't playing against high-caliber competition in the Sun Belt Conference ... Forced to sit out for what would have been his freshman season because of academic issues, though he's reportedly worked very hard to get everything together ...
