Im 2 weeks out for play books for both classic and current teams. If I do the run plays testing and coaching profiles that would take me another 2 weeks. Ill mess with that as the season go's on. Im going to let the slider experts figure out all that... :-)

There really isn't any "play running" going on here, what's happening is that the cpu is REACTING. If you switch control to another defender, the cpu will just pass to another guy.
Wrong. This is not an assumption but a theory that has been tested and found to be true. You can duplicate it if you'd like.

1. Take any two teams.
2. Set run plays to 0 for both.
3. Watch a CPU game with at least one team set to coach mode, play art always, play notification always and auto play call.
4. Document how many seconds it takes the CPU to call a play after a rebound and how many plays they call by watching the coach mode team.
5. Do the same thing with the same two teams with call plays at 100.
6. Report your findings.

I guarantee that having call plays at 0 makes the CPU call plays more often and after 3-4 seconds whereas 100 makes them call plays after 7-8 seconds and less often.

Wow, I did not know the run plays slider is backwards this year, is 2K aware of this, they definately need to patch this.

Any idea of whether the coaching profiles are recalculated by the CPU when starting an Association, and whether setting Run Plays to 0 before or during an Association would be futile without a way to freeze those values?

They carry over into season mode. They should into association, also.

Re: Coach Tendencies - Run Plays (2K13)

MK, you said that all the tendencies are linked so wouldn't it be smarter to have the tendencies set to default with the exception of attack the basket. I played with a bunch of different sliders on the board and they always abuse the paint. At default i'm seeing the computer distribute plays better. If you were to have pass to post at 100 won't the computer just run low post plays 95-100% of the time and pass out of it if it's not working?

Re: Coach Tendencies - Run Plays (2K13)

So is it concluded that Run Plays = 0 will be better for the CPU when playing against the AI?

Also any suggestions to get the CPU to run more plays for their Post players? For example, playing against the Knicks, Melo and JR are jacking up shots left and right while ignoring Amare...

To me it doesn't seem to work for user vs CPU.

How do I put it to coach mode? Can't figure it out....
