NBA 2K9 Insider needs to give Gallinari the shamgod move PROOF inside

Pistol routinely did these sleight of hand tricks, he would throw what looked like a chest pass in one direction and flick the ball with his wrist in the other direction. He did this wrist flick trick also while dribbling, defenders routinely reacted just how you see in the Gallinari video here, I guess Pistol didn't know he was doing a "Shammgod".

The highlight videos on youtube don't do Pistol justice, every game he played you could make a highlight film out of, he was the Harlem Globetrotters on acid.

If there's one guy from any era I would like to see play in today's game it's Pistol Pete, put him on a good team and let him play point guard, the only discussion would be "who's the second best point guard in basketball". He needed a D'Antoni type philosophy and the freedom to shoot 3's, the line was implemented only in his final year with Boston.

Fun Pistol fact: When Dale Brown took over at LSU, he charted every Pistol Pete game, if you remember Pistol averaged 44 points a game in 3 years on varsity (freshman not allowed at the time). Dale Brown said that Pistol averaged THIRTEEN 3 pointers a game at LSU, which means he would have averaged FIFTY SEVEN points a game at LSU.

It would be crazyto think that SHamgod INVENTED the move. YES he popularized it. As much basketball has been played BEFORE he was even born. Come on now Ruff

You could say the same about any of the moves the And1 Mixtape guys do. But I've seen a real similar move by Pistol Pete but I don't recall seeing something 100% identical to Shammgod's move as far as faking the drive and actually rolling the ball out, then snatching it back with the opposite hand. I have seen Pistol Pete do a crossover which is essentially the same thing but less of a complete roll. If anything I think Shammgod may have seen it and just tweaked it a little more.

But maybe I'm wrong. I can't say I've lived through the Maravich days.
