Does the On-Ball Defense Rule Still Apply in NBA 2k11

That was the stupidest rule i have heard in my life a guy told me i wasnt sim because i didn't play on ball defense. meanwhile i was scoring at will on him because playing on ball d in 2k10 is a joke because the game has terrible d especially when the so called sim players swithch their controls where all they have to do is hit buttons to do moves. I prefer playing the C or PF so I can block shots and protect the rim. I dont play illegal defense or play passing lanes all game so whats the problem.

I love controlling shot blockers and with how good the user shot blocking feels in the demo you can bet I'll be primarily using Ewing and any other shot blocker. I'm a big, was a good shot blocker in my younger days so seeing the floor from a big man/help defense perspective is just in my DNA. If a video game represents that aspect of defense well then I'm definitely going to be a part of it.

Also, hopefully with the new momentum it shouldn't matter who someone controls on D. Cheaters/gamblers/clueless players should finally be penalized on D.

I guess what I am saying is I dont have a problem with playing on ball d if the person is going to play sim offense and not take a guy like d rose or westbrook and abuse certain moves and get buckets when i know there is no way in hell i would allow that. I would play on ball d on nba live all day and that game is not on 2ks level

This was never a "rule." People just don't want to play someone that is going to guard the Center all game.

Use sparingly it's pretty involving. If I see you waiting for Kobe to come through a screen, I'll take my defender and defend the lane how I want. But to score then just switch to the Center and play the whole game that way? Zzzz.

I personally feel like i dont have the ability to make the help defense defend like i would have them.

Im a big advocate of drawing charges over attempting blocks.

I like to flood the strong side of the court with a 4.

I like to pre-rotate on the pick and roll to make the first option the farthest offensive weapon.

I also like to trap the roller on the catch from time to time

Until I am given the options to tell my team to do all of this then I will continue to play off ball defense whenever I damn well please.

I don't care how anyone else plays defense, As long as their not exploiting moves/chessing.

But I do have have a lil problem with them ppl who play off ball D that's afraid to defend. Ya'll know the ones that keep switching players to avoid defending u, People who do that are LAME!!! they shouldn't even play online or against anyone if ur scared to play defense.
