Ironically I've had a problem with pretty much every sports game that involves "Crashing" something. In the NHL, a huge percentage of goals are scored by creating traffic in front and just banging away at the puck, or immediately flying in after a shot and knocking in a rebound. With NHL 09 and 10. I could set everything to max and my strategy to "crash the net" and the bulk of my guys would haul a** as soon as the shot was fired, even skating away from the puck when it was mere inches away from them and would've resulted in an easy goal.
With the NBA 2k games, and a couple other sports titles. It's as though sports games logic/programming ignores you if you want to crash the ______. Its' just something I've had happen a lot in NBA 2k, and am now realizing how many times in other sports games this has come up too.
All that aside, if the NBA 2k pattern of 2 patches holds true, which I'm sure it will. Then I guess we have to find some settings/sliders/roster tweaks to bump it up without killing any other aspects of gameplay, always a fun, wonderful, and absurdly time consuming challenge.
Baseline - It's definitely not ruining the game for me, I've never stopped playing because I'm so fed up with offensive rebounds or anything. It's usually just during the game I see missed opportunities, then check out my team stats at the end of a game and realize I just played a game on 9 minute quarters and got 1 offensive rebound, and the CPU got 4. I think my biggest gripe isn't that this happens, it's that it's literally the one thing that's keeping this game from being perfect to me, personally. I'm definitely not complaining in the sense that some do, acting like spoiled children because Penny Hardaway's 1996 shoes with blue trim aren't in the game. I just figure there's a way to make the offensive rebounding better, more realistic, and hopefully we can find it. Despite all of that, I love the game, it's far and away my favorite basketball game of all time Definitely top 3 sports games of all time as well.
Travis - Let me know after you've played a few games if your stats with offensive rebounding stayed consistent. I'm glad you responded and half-seriously posted some suggestions, then tried them and found that at least for one game, they worked. Lol. Hopefully they continue to work for you. If you've played a few more games and they're still looking great, I'll definitely try them. The only reason I can't try yours out right now is that I don't have enough time this week to finish a full game due to work and travel.
For this type of thing, I would need to play multiple full games to see if it will really work. So hopefully by the time I'm all done with that stuff I'll come back on here and see what you've written. Or feel free to message me and let me know how things turn out. Thank you for your reply.

I continue to adjust sliders here and there but once I feel I've gone as far as I can go I will post my sliders in the slider section. I might even put my edited rosters on 2k if I decide to reedit before i start my Association. I am getting the feeling that offensive rebounds is gong to be inconsistent no matter what. I have game where i grab 7-10 but then i have to many 3 reb games. I do play with the Pacers so i don't expect to lead the league but the pacers do average around 10 a game.
I have even played with the Blazers since there a good offensive rebound team and playing the Wussy *** Suns I struggled to grab O boards.
