Its probably been said but ill say it again. Theres 1 reason and 1 reason only that games are made on xbox 360 and ported over. That reason is Cost of Development.

Its cheaper and probably easier for people who lack the experience to develop ps3 games to develop for the 360 first.

Madden 12 graphics suck on ps3 when compared side by side...when will they stop porting over to ps3?

And when does this become a BBB issue? Ps3 owners like myself shouldn't be paying same price for sports games imo. Does anyone know how to complain and seriously take action? Cuz it is bull to pay $65 for lower quality game that's the same price on the 360. Jmo

Sadly, I think this development cycle is a lost cause, and most games will continue to be ported from the 360 to the PS3. Maybe Sony will have learned its lesson next round with the PS4 and make sure a) it's affordable, right from the get-go and b) not require developers to jump through hoops to make use of its sophisticated hardware.

"Complain" and "seriously take action"? The world already has by making the PS3 the #3 console of this generation. Hopefully Sony will take notice and not repeat their mistakes.

Though someone can make a strong abstract argument that the PS3 has ultimately more processing power, after a half decade of dual platform games, countless screen comparisons and threads of PS3 users griping, it should be clear as day that it takes far less human labor and time to tap the graphics power of the 360.

Yes the PS3 has a much larger CPU, but graphics and most game code is generally handled by the GPU and graphics card; the two areas where the 360 shines over the PS3. The 360's GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) can handle 6x the shader processing power of the PS3's. The PS3 also has no anti-aliasing, causing the jaggies PS3 users complain about. And the 360's modded graphics card x1950xtx is far faster and much more powerful than the PS3's 7800gtx.

Vertex Shader Processing
Xbox 360 - 6.0 Billion Vertices/sec
PS3 - 1.0 Billion Vertices/sec

The PS3 can overcome this disparity and display outstanding graphics because developers have to log thousands of hours trying to get the PS3's 8 separate cores of its CPU to do the work that, in a perfect world, it shouldn't be responsible for doing.

You can't hold the graphics bar of Uncharted to every PS3 game because it took years of development from a team who was soley focused on the PS3 to squeeze those graphics out of the CPU's 8 cores. You can't expect 2K/EA/whoever's developers to pull that off in 6-9 months of a year long dev cycle when they're coding for 3-5 different systems.

Great post, so saying the games are ported from xbox to ps3 is technically not true Both compiled console codes come from the same lines of source code, whereas to achieve the same graphics quality in PS3, you would have to add more lines of code.

I just recently bought a PS3 but I am all about the PC version. The REAL version of NBA2k.

correct dude. but 2k showing less love for pc version of d game. pc isnt their first priority. when it comes to updates it gets left behind constantly by the console versions and d online play is crap. and all u can do is nuthin but frown and accept d fact that at least 2k did a pc version than none at all.
