Re: NBA 2k12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here: 360 & PS3 Versions UP

just played my first game

a few things that really stood out

-from afar, the player models look great. Wade and LeBron aren't overly bulky. however, when they zoom in on some of them, the legs on these guys are massive.

-Dirk & LeBron's shots look super smooth. didn't see Wade's, as he never shot while I was playing.

-AI is so improved. I was so sure I had a shot timed on a swing pass to the corner to Chalmers, so I flew out for the block. To my surprise, he waited, went under me, and as my defense rotated, he kicked it to the opposite corner to Wade, who then kicked it to an open LeBron as the defense rotated. Unbelievably smart ball movement by the AI during my game. if you have bad habits from 2K11 (like I do), this AI is going to own you for the first few weeks that you have the game.

-I love the new % thing on the free throws. very helpful.

-not as easy to poke a ball lose when a ball handler is just standing there dribbling it in front of you. he does a much better job of turning away to protect the ball.

-post play is going to be fun to learn. I accidentally took a 15 foot hook shot with Dirk, thinking I was about to put up a turn around, fall away. not sure if stick movement affects the shot type, as opposed to last year when distance determined it.

-Chris Bosh did serious work on me a couple of times in the post. had me jumping out of the building with Chandler.

-buzzer beater celebrations seemed to be smoother. I won the quarter on a buzzer beater 3 by Dirk, and the second it went in, Butler and Kidd jumped up and down, Dirk celebrated. No delay, like in previous games.

Last year I did not notice many flaws in the demo. Not that there were not there, but because I was so pulled in that they were not nagging. 5 games into 2k12 an I am already noticing the cpu 360 vision for deflect passes. The lack of IQ from my teammates.
Not going to rain on the 2k12 parade so I will just wait till the full version to post about it again. But the demo has save me a sleepless night on the 3rd into the 4th of Oct.
Sorry, but considering all the classic teams that will be playable I'll still be sleepless. And playing in the 1960's in B&W no less! Can't wait!

Re: NBA 2k12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here: 360 & PS3 Versions UP

finally got it downloaded onto my ps3...played my first few games..

everything is improved, but the passing feels a bit off. a lot of times when i pass, there is a LONG delay before my player passes...not sure what is going on with that...loved the responsive of passing in 2k11, but these delayed passes in 2k12 can be pretty annoying. could be tied to the pass rating of the players i'm passing with...will take some getting used to.

cpu AI is hard...it exploits any little mistake you make...this is a great improvement.

lead passing effectiveness has been GREATLY reduced...the delayed pass animations i mentioned above also affect this as well. i find that you really can't direct receivers like you could before...it seems you can only really slightly lead the player in the direction he's already moving (which is more realistic).

every area of movement has been smoothed out and refined from 2k11...buttery smooth.

ive played the ps3 demo of 2k12 a few times now and havent heard this crowd thing everybody is talking about lol or maybe im just not noticing it lol,and im wearing a headset lol. once again im not seeing any huge difference between this demo and 2k11 from just a visual/presentation standpoint lol,and im a stickler for graphics and presentation in sports video games, or maybe its just me i guess lol. or maybe the ps3 version visualy is poor compared to the xbox 360 version like some people are saying lol. but i down have the money to own two consoles let alone own to versions of the same game lol. so i guess ill keep staying with my ps3 and thats only because of the mlb the show series!

Just gonna post my impressions, after about 10 games. So please don't bite me.

Pros : Game feels weighted. Feels like you cant go where you wanna go at any point, and I like that.
Player models are on point. Bosh is very ugly.
Mismatches : This game does take mismatches pretty seriously
The Pre Game warmup was amazing!
Changing layups in mid air is amazing too !
Cons: As for a Demo, its sucks that its so dry, but like Pared said... I rather the demo to be dry, not the game (not exact words)
Injuries Animation: Where everyone stops to look at a guys twisted ankle is a no no for me.
Def 3 Second. The game freezes. Pretty sure this will only be in the demo though.

Overall, I enjoy the demo, and I feel it is a great improvement from 2k11.

This game is so awesome, the wait is going to hurt. This game is smooth as butter and Dirk's shot is a thing of beauty. Favorite thing for me has to be the y button for the post. It is so huge for me because I actually have a post game now. The y button to get out of the post is also great. For some reason in past basketball games I always struggled getting in and out of the post position. The player movement, player control, and graphics are also very much improved.

Played the game last night & could'nt stop playing. I was burning inside cos it made me want the game a million times more then I already did.

Post game is so much better using the Y button.

Players are much more like their real life counterparts.

Graphically the jerseys, crowd, faces, shoes, everything overall looks much better.

Thank god walk up animation is back.

Your not invincible anymore when using euro, hop step or spin move to the hoop.

Mid air collision system is so much better.

There are alot more improvements but I don't want to ramble on
