I will say this as I've seen some people post about the rosters being used and sliders.

In doing these test I've only used default sliders and rosters. The only that I change is the difficulty and boost the foul sliders to 85 (not enough fouls out the box) for both cpu/hum.

I played a little more before I went out today and I'm still standing firm that the ps3 patch is a different patch from the 360. The gameplay is just so much tighter on the ps3. I was playing the Lakers and Kobe, not Fisher or Blake was killing me. I was able to move the ball around without nonsense going on all over the place. Again, this is just my .02

Keep the mature thoughts going guys, I'd really like to see more people chime in if they have both systems.
Kobe had by far the most points and shots in my 2 games. Very happy to see that.

Who rosters you are using

Also whether or not you are playing off ball defense or not.

Try to be descriptive as possible. That way we all can narrow down what might be causing the issue.
All of my games both 360 and PS3 were using the following settings:
8 minutes
Default Roster from latest official update
Default on gameplay mode
Real FG and FT%
All-Pro and All-Star Difficulty

I just did this and I did not notice a difference that's worth mentioning. stats attached.
stats are obviously different but the game felt 'right' in both cases (I like the game that I played with new account - I deleted all the nba2k12 files in the account - installed patch that's it - old account was my usual account where I have saved custom sliders, replays, snapshots, saved games, user profile etc etc)

PS3
Difficulty: Pro
Game Style: Simulation
Quarter Length: 12mins
Shot Stick FT and shooting
Everything else default (Including Defensive Assist Strength set at 0 - I believe this slider changes the game a lot (both my defense and the cpu's offense) - I think it's worth mentioning if someone has it at a different value)
I play on and off ball defense - I think the game plays much easier off ball - shadowing and switching to on ball player to make a move (attempt block/steal body up etc) or positional adjustment)
Default Roster from latest official update
I played with Indiana Pacers.

a little of topic rant:
I had so much fun with the simulation game style over the default so I checked the differences between two sets

Default - Simulation =
Inside Shot Success -5
Close Shot Success -5
Contact Shot Success -5
Driving Contact Shot Freq +38
Inside Contact Shot Freq +50
Steal Success -25
On Ball Defense +20
Clutch Factor -15
Look For Post Players +30
Go for on ball steals -45
Most of Foul Sliders +20

more contact more fouls and it's harder to score inside
all of these sliders have an effect on the "super cpu runs" that many were complaining about (including me) - it's such a shame that this game style is not available to be used in Online Associations. The simulation game style slider set should have been the DEFAULT imo.

Interesting, I've always liked the game on Simulation, it just felt like a better better than the default out of the box sliders.

If you don't mind, I'm going to use the exact same settings..default rosters / simulation settings on the Xbox 360, and give the stats on the game.

Re: Differences between the 360/PS3 versions found after the patch.

I own the PS3 version & the 360 version showed up earlier this week from gamefly since I forgot to take it off the list. Anyway, I've played 6 games in back to back sets of 2. First game ps3, second game 360. Both are identical default settings, live roster updates, and same teams.

While I can't pinpoint everything, I have to say the ps3 version just feels better. It just seems like a better flow of basketball. The 360 comes across as somewhat disjointed when playing. Fast breaks, AI, rebounding, the CPU FG%; I just preferred the results I had on the ps3.

You know sometimes it's a curse having both consoles. Maybe I picked correctly for NBA 2K12 by going with the PS3 this year, but I lost when I picked the PS3 for Skyrim. Same thing with Madden.

In any event, I think Dirtyjerz is on to something that hopefully 2K can address. The size of the patch should have nothing to do with it since, as many have stated, MS uses compression, but I can say that based off the 6 games I played with identical settings with 3 on each system; the PS3 seems to be a much more crisp and better flowing game of basketball.

Damn, this makes things more convoluted than they already were.

Just wanted to say thanks for taking out the time give us all some feeback.

Talked to a buddy of mine today who has both and he pretty much said the same as you. He did say he couldn't just pinpoint anything other than the flow/overall gameplay seemed better in his opinion on the PS3 and he is a " 360 Fanboy". Again thanks to those contributing to this thread.

Re: Differences between the 360/PS3 versions found after the patch.

No doubt the PS3 has a better rythm to it, no doubt what's so ever. Passing is far superior the more I play on the PS3 vice the 360. I don't why but to me the 360's paint is always jammed with players, everyone is clumped on top of one another often. Floor spacing is better on the PS3, driving the lanes are more pronounced on the PS3. I can't stand driving the lane on the 360, player gets bumped, ball goes flying, turnover. In the PS3, there is contact and you can be easily knocked off course, though it has more fluidity to me. I strongly prefer most games on the 360, though on this itereration, the 360 falls short IMO.

Audio - don't even get me started, the 360 is loud and roaring compared to the intricate sounds that the PS3 DTS offers, you can hear every little detail on the PS3, details that aren't discerned using DD 5.1 on the 360.
