there are lots of ways to cheese and it has nothing to do with lag. the cheese i experience on a daily basis features things such as lead passing cheese, dunking over 2 or 3 people cheese, steal button mash cheese, draining shots in defenders faces cheese, double team every possession cheese, 1-3-1 zone cheese and up and under move cheese.

and i dont play on ball D in quick matches for the simple fact that its impossible to stay on your man due to the lag, as you mentioned. but i dont run around like an idiot either. i usually control al horford or josh smith and stay with my assignment if i play man. a lot of the time ill play 2-3 zone to stop people from driving the lane constantly. i use josh smith in the 2-3 and roam my designated zone, i dont mash the steal button and run around like an idiot. im sorry if you dont think thats sim, but its certainly not cheese. you should be able to beat the cpu defense if your good enough. in sure you beat the cpu offline.

Ummm okay, Idk what lead passing cheese is, Is it throwing a lead pass? The dunking over numerous people has always been in 2k, but they made driving to the rim harder, you also play off-ball so you shouldn't be getting dunked on that much, but you use 2-3 defense which allows lead passing to be effective and opens lanes up. But you should be able to swat that, which is difficult because of the lag.

I don't consider the steal button mashing cheese, because it makes scoring easier for me. Making shots in a defender face is a part of basketball, if it is happening consistently I could understand, go check out Da_Czar shot contest vid.

I also don't understand the double team cheese either that actually is a basketball strategy. 1-3-1 zone idk that was cheese, it is a strategy. You should be able to pick apart any zone man. Up and under is cheese, but we have the hands up feature so idk. I mean everything you mentioned can be countered. Its just hard to counter it with all the present lag. I didn't mean to offend you but from back in the day if you didn't play on-ball your considered a cheeser, so that's why I said that.

1-3-1 is definitely cheese because defenders cover ground unrealistically, its to the point where the only way to beat it is to get somebody in the corner who can shoot 3's, or get somebody around the free throw line which is difficult because of the 3 defenders in the middle...You can pass the ball like a mofo because I'm the type of player who is always tapping the icon button, its been second nature for years so I'm always ready to pass to the open man and know what letter he is before it comes up...it doesn't matter how good your ball movement is, there usually be a defender in your face if he knows what he's doing...and they put their defensive pressure and help defense up to 100 to maximize it...

The first time I have heard of this, no disrespect, but do you know how to beat the zone? Just wondering because it doesn't sound like it. There has been a lot of complain on this forums but this is the first time I've heard of 1-3-1 zone.

Re: Why is 2k going "casual" with 2k13?

2k12 had flaws out of the box with the way the did the Ratings and Tendencies, not to mention quite a few Glitches. Now for ON-line players you guys are stuck with whatever 2k gives you as Rosters to play with. Now for Off-line guys if you are willing to Edit the players and the game 2k12 can be quite enjoyable. It is a LONG process but when you find the right mix of Sliders and Roster you can enjoy the game ALOT. After editing the game I find 2k12 MUCH harder than 2k11. EVEN if 2k13 goes "Casual" , the guys who know how to play the game will demolish the Casual players. 2k HAS to get the Casual Gamers if they DONT it will be just like what happened to the College Hoops Game(2k8 College Hoops BEST GAME EVER!!!) If 2k13 fixes the CAT glitch(Messes up Rosters when Downloading Created Team off 2k Share) and ALLOWS editors to FULLY edit the game it will be the BEST option for all NBA Gamers. Casual or Hardcore

Re: Why is 2k going "casual" with 2k13?

Aren't there "Casual" and "Simulation" settings on the game?

Personally, I am not very good at the game on Default "Simulation" All Star level... I will admit, I don't play the game a ton, but I do find it very challenging... However, I don't feel like its "too hard" and not fun...

I've used the "casual" setting in the past, and I agree... It is ALLOT more "easy" to pull of dribble moves and get to the paint. So I can totally see where your coming from on that.

I think as long as they keep the "Simulation" and "Casual" settings on the game, making the Default level a little "easier" is not really a bad thing... People that want to "pick up and play" will be able to do so, while those that want a truer representation of the NBA Game can click it over to the "Simulation" setting and do their thing...

im not sure the double team glitch is still working but basicly if you call a double at the right time just before the offplayer shoots it forces the double amation even if the 2nd def is still cross court. if done right the off player will miss it eveytime(dont play online but my friend liked doing it last year)

Re: Why is 2k going "casual" with 2k13?

the way I interpreted the statement is that the casual mode will be more user friendly. the casual mode controls in 2k12 might have still been a little too complex for just those who want to pick up and play.

Im not worried about this, cause 2k gives users plenty of options when it comes to control scheme and style of play.

I for one hope that they dont dumb down the controls. for us sim heads thats the beauty of the game, you actually have to practice to master moves in this game. once that goes, then you lose an element of sim.
