I think all they are going to do will involve changing a controller option from total control to casual. Not that big of a deal. Expect something like y being the spin button b being the crossover button for xbox users. Instead of having to do all that with sticks and trigger, I think you will do something with buttons which is easier to a casual gamer.

you can already do that with the controls just gatta change what setting you use really i never found it easier to do spins and crossovers. evertime id spin using y id get hit wit a charge and using b for crossover just does random moves atlest for me

Yeah you can change it but you have to think casual novice gamer here they need certain things preset and fundamental. I wouldn't think a casual gamer would know hey I can change the location of this move to that button etc they may just get overwhelmed at the options this is my opinion though. I also think pressing a shot button in the paint may do a little thinking for you speculation of course.

But you should be able to swat that, which is difficult because of the lag.

I don't consider the steal button mashing cheese, because it makes scoring easier for me. Making shots in a defender face is a part of basketball, if it is happening consistently I could understand, go check out Da_Czar shot contest vid.

I also don't understand the double team cheese either that actually is a basketball strategy. 1-3-1 zone idk that was cheese, it is a strategy. You should be able to pick apart any zone man. Up and under is cheese, but we have the hands up feature so idk. I mean everything you mentioned can be countered. Its just hard to counter it with all the present lag. I didn't mean to offend you but from back in the day if you didn't play on-ball your considered a cheeser, so that's why I said that.
you clearly dont play much online if you dont think the things i mentioned are cheese. my online record is 166-65. its not that i cant overcome the cheese, its just that i HATE that people play like that. i cant count how many times the person im playing against will run around like an idiot with someone like chris paul or rudy gay and just randomly stop and shoot a jumper right over my defender and make it. no attempt at running a realistic offense, no attempt at even getting an open shot. and they get rewarded for it so they keep doing it.

spamming the steal button is cheese because they get rewarded with steals far too often especially if they are using someone like rondo or westbrook. on top of that its just cheesy because its not realistic. players dont run around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to steal everything. thats just not how basketball is played on any level.

double team cheese is when people set their defense to halfcourt trap and double team EVERY POSSESSION. that is certainly cheese, and is not a legit basketball strategy. no basketball team double teams on every possession.

up and under is cheese because it cant be stopped. 95% of the time its either a made basket or a foul is called on the defender. putting the hand up to defend it doesnt work.

1-3-1 is cheese because almost every time someone uses it, they run around with one player trying to steal or tip everything. this falls into the same category of steal spamming. its not realistic and its a cheap gimmick that is easy to pick apart.

look, i dont think your understanding me. im not saying i cant beat the cheese. im not saying it cant be countered. i stated my record above and i do pick apart cheesy zones and double teams by finding the open man and making my shots. my point is, i dont like playing like that. i want people to play straight up basketball instead of resorting to cheesy gimmicks that are easy to pick apart.

I agreed with you on the cheese stuff, I was being objective and pointing out some of the stuff that can be done. I wish players wouldn't have to differ to cheating tactics either, but the larger audience is the casual one, and that's why I stopped playing online because I felt the lag wasn't giving a fair game. The game also plays totally different online.

But if you look at every game there are basically some form of cheating such as campers. People don't like it and it's cheap but we really can't do anything about it. Maybe 2k should make matchmaking better. Idk your right I really can't speak on cheese because I haven't played online in a while. But the topic was 2k12 is casual game, I really disagree with that. Maybe your right since I don't play online. But offline I don't feel as if it's pick up and play. I'm discovering moves right now. I didn't mean to offend you man.

Re: Why is 2k going "casual" with 2k13?

This one is simple the game is definitely going the way of the casual gamer. Look at the Wish list thread, peope still ask for stupid stuff, and the core of the game is off. We don't have crew, and online Leagues with web components yet guys are still asking for different sock lengths???? All it does is send the wrong message to 2k. it shows how simple minded the masses are.

It shouldn't matter what button the moves are mapped to. It should be sound basketball beats Playground ball 100 times out of 100.... instead this series rewards you for being a clown...

well i do think the cpu cheese's pretty hard on default settings and sliders but i wont get into that. ill just say that im a huge offline guy and ive been so disappointed in 2k12's offline modes that ive turned into more of an online player this year.

i love to play association mode and once i finally found a good roster and slider set, i discovered that all rookies have cold zones and there is no fix. that ruined association for me. 2k needs to get all the little bugs like this out of the game. i can handle some gameplay issues and inconsistancies but something like all rookies having 100% cold zones is unacceptable.
