Re: Just had my dunk blocked...

If I had a PVR thingy I would post video(s). You can interrupt the dunk animations either by trying to take a charge late and pushing into the dunker, sometimes you can foul hard and they will not complete the dunk and sometimes you can wrap up during the gather.

This is obviously with slider tweaks, I just had a play literally 10-20 minutes ago where Alabamarob (OA game) was going up with a dunk (right baseline) where Rudy Gay went up, I contested (from FT line downwards) after he jumped with Kevin Martin fouling him and Rudy did not finish the dunk, 2 free throws he missed the first.

So while its rare, its not impossible, well maybe on Ranked but not in the game as a whole.

I'm starting to think JasonWilliams is 2k's personal yes-man, lol.

Sad how this is still going on and he's still continuing to defend 2k.

Sad when you have no comment other than to come after another person.

Re: Just had my dunk blocked...

Hey Jason, I love your work with sliders and everything, I use your set myself, but you cant keep defending this issue or it will never be fixed by 2k man..

That play with the video, there should have been massive contact 100% of the the time with a foul. Prince got there in time and was far enough from under the rim. Now I understand if Wade took off first and Prince was too far under and he got dunked on, but he wasn't.

I'm not saying it should be blocked but there has to be some contact or something you can do to stop the dunk.. I know you are going to say sliders fix this, but we shouldn't have to sit here for hours on end trying to figure out which ones to tweak... (A lot of it was you so thanks)

Plus, what kind of game allows these type of plays where there is no contact and the dunk just goes through everyone? I believe it was the "other game". And we all know what happened to that when they took away canimations and replace with RTP.

I left the other game for a more realistic experience and got sick of hearing rubbish from "their" fans on their forums saying it was alright for this and that to happen. They didn't want to call EA out on it and look at their game now.

All I'm saying is if we want a better more realistic game with contact on plays like that, we have to give feedback man... I know sliders will fix this, but why wasn't it fixed before release. Defensive position is a key element in basketball defense. A dunk over rides any of it, how is that realistic.

By the way love your sliders, it saved the game for me.. But still not enough contact down low.

Re: Just had my dunk blocked...

@Hulk,

Where have I ever said that it doesn't need to be worked on? I have repeatedly said that it needs tweaking from 2k.

What I don't want to see is 2k go backwards in regards to blocking, so many on this forum complain everyday about how things go 'backwards' and they can't stand it, but yet here they are asking to go backwards.

Again I posted facts from 2k and some basic questions that would be helpful (for 2k) in getting solid answers from the community, but all I saw was a general disregard of the questions.

JWill is correct. With sliders at the right levels you can break up dunk animations. It doesn't happen every dunk, but it happens. I have been able to hold the left trigger and meet the dunker right before he leaves the ground to break up the dunk animation. If I go to practice mode and play to 100 against the HOF CPU Miami Heat with sliders I will break up about 5 dunk animations per practice session.

I have only seen a dunk blocked about 4 times since I got the game, but it can also happen.

Finally, 2k has always given the offensive players to much strength to run over and through defenders and still finish plays. The defender falls, and the offensive player continues through like John Riggins. They need to fix this.

The very least they can do is be more liberal with giving charging calls to a defender who is ran over with goood position. The patch notes say that they have done this, however I have yet to get a charge call since patch.

My man, exactly.

Speaking of charges, actually got 2 in a OA game last night (Suns v Heat). 1st Scola was in prime position and got it, 2nd JO was sorta in position but still got the call (big play at the time too). So all in all, hopefully the tweaks were in the right direction.

Fouls (all) still need to be turned up to above 85 as a minimum, I would say 92 as a min, but 85 would do it.

I agree, I've seen Nash run over PF & C while attempting finger roll layups and in some instances even getting the And1. I have no problems if Nash can get an And1, but the fact that my PF or C falls over without even attempting to block or foul is ridiculous. Which makes me think only the higher rated teams get away with this. Guys on lower rated teams don't get that benefit instead there PF or C will miss a layup with Nash guarding them in the post. 2K you gotta love it.
