Help: Real Player % vs User

What is the meaning of each in the 'Settings' menu, and which should I use?

I personally use Real Player % it's more realistic FG % and since it goes off your actual stats

On user you get left open even a little bit of space and your timing is good = automatic 3

User: Your timing on shot release

Real: CPU releases at whatever time automatically based off ratings.

Totally up to you. Some people consider Real Player to be "cheating", but it's better for Sim B-Ball.

Better for Sim stats, not better for simulating playing basketball.

OP, I look at it like this:

If I wanted the game to be as close as possible to watching an average NBA game on TV, I might prefer Real Player %, but I don't feel like unnecessarily giving up any small element of control, or the need to reduce the possibility of statistical outliers in games, so I stick with User.

Understood.

What I want/think the game should be is a combination of the two. My release should influence the shot, but the degree of error (or lack thereof) should take into account things like: defensive coverage; hot/cold spot and; the shooters abilities.

User Timing is the combination of two. 2k has explained it multiple times.

Re: Help: Real Player % vs User

I really like Real%,the only that bothers me about is there's just too many missed open shots on my side.

I feel like there should be somewhat of a slight boost, when your man is wide open. However with the right sliders/roster I feel I get what I need from user timing.

Would like real % changed/updated a little next game.

it already is

i dont think many people realize that.. which is why so many complain about 'perfect' releases not going in
