It should be like in 2k11 if you dribble with someone that has a low ball handling rating in traffic they should pick up their dribble. That doesnt happen enough.

You should also be able to take charges without having your feet set when the ball handler just keeps turboing into you again just like in 2k11.

As useful as that animation was (although it was kinda cheesy), it didn't stop people turboing from the inbounds. The main problem is contact doesn't register enough when someone is turboing, so it was actually easier to avoid making contact with a defender when you were turboing in 2k11 and when you're doing it now. Sometimes the ballhandler just slips off them as if they were an oil slick.

I don't think the issue would be fixed with a tendency, because the simple fact of the matter is, LeBron James isn't going to keep his handle, when running at top speed into another defender. He's going to certainly lose the ball, possibly his balance and might fall. There are so few collision animations outside the paint, 2K would have us believe that IRL when two people collide, the ballhandler is supposed to go into a "Mario-animation" and the defender is supposed to act like he's having an epileptic fit. Using turbo and running straight at a defender seems to be a more reliable way of getting past a defender than actually using the right stick dribble moves.

This is another one of those arcade elements that holds back the game. It's just another case of the developers holding the consumer's hand. It needs to stop. People need to be taught that they have to be careful when handling the ball, especially at top speed.

forgot to add that lowering player speed also helps in creation of contact.

Raising on ball D really just increase the sliding and that shoulder block animation that makes the dribbler pick up the ball (which is a foul 90% of the time in real life).

Agreed. I think the pickup animation should be triggered when a poor ballhandler starts dribbling into bodies (assuming there is no live ball). Don't want to skew player ratings to prevent over dribbling. I never believe in adjusting attributes. Without ratings its not an nba game to me.

i never like how turbo is applied in 2k games. turbo should always cause some type of forceful collision if used by offense or defense. I think that 2k is avoiding using physics because of this turbo problem.

What do you think?
There is too much of an advantage given to the offense. The offense has to pick up the ball with more regularity and create more contact initiations even if they don't cause fouls. The penalty should be a decrease in shot success immediately after, or an increase of turnover chance last an offensive foul or blocking foul. I don't know if it needs another rating though right now you can get away with forcing it with "star" G's and F's no matter how unrealistic it looks. They make it too easy to get to any spot with a slightly good player even if the lane is crowded. Take away the slip and slide feeling of playing on ball defense.
