You don't need to play against other players no, there are 140+ challenges against the CPU.

But you do need to be online to be able to play this mode yes.

Yes. Not currently. They will release them all year. In previous installments it was like 2-4 a week revealed and put in the game like Madden.

I spent well over a grand on MyTeam last year. I think I spent $45 on LUT this weekend (got Paul George as my Elite).

LUT doesn't look deep enough to justify spending that much this year. Maybe next year. I love the mode, but I put Silver Stauskas in for the 4th quarter and rack up points, so I don't see a need to spend money to get Elites.

Love is a beast in this mode. Rebounds, blocks shots, plays defense, blows by guys and hits threes. I think he's got to be the best PF in the game at this point.
