no matter who's behind, all they're doing is wasting time and delaying any type of evolution of our young core.

they ain't winning sh*t and they keep playing Kobe, Lou and Nick.

Russel - Clarkson - Larry - Randle - Upshaw with no responsibilities at all would do better than this pile of junk that is closing our games.

It would never happen, but it would be so great if all the front row celebrities who come to the games showed up with paper bags over their heads. That might shame the FO into doing something.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

All the Lakers/Kobe talk that goes on in those Kobe Game Threads and this thread is quiet?

But yeah, y'all boy Byron is tripping, not that it's anything new.

Re: 2016 LA Lakers - Hollywood Going Young

But they're still selling out at home?

I noticed on ESPN on the NBA page, where they list the schedule, there are links to buying tickets for each game.

For most days, the game involving the Lakers has the highest starting price, usually over $100 while the other games start at a fraction of that amount.

So the retirement tour appears to have increased demand or the willingness of people to pay to see Kobe play.

Of course Kobe is also marketing specific merchandise for his retirement.

Maybe the Lakers are doing okay with ticket sales and of course that big TV contract so they don't mind the team losing so much with Kobe hogging the ball and taking touches away from the young players.

They could end up with a shot to get Simmons (though if they do, would he make Russell or Randle somewhat redundant, since his game involves handling the ball a lot?) while maybe seeing even increased revenues?

I think the Lakers are doing fine with tickets selling. That's all they are about theses days.

I read a french article where D'Angelo says he isn't trying to please the coach on the court or that he isn't trying to show him anything. He plays for his teammates and he's just trying to get better as a player.

It was nice seeing him trying to close that game out in Minny.

Russell looked pretty smooth last night until the offense went completely stagnant.

“The Lakers have granted Scott the autonomy to coach his team without interference. But Kupchak and/or Buss will likely meet with Scott next week after the team’s eight-game trip to gain a better understanding of his thought process on how he will develop the team’s young players, according to a team source familiar with the situation.”

The franchise seems torn on whether he’ll return for the third and last guaranteed year on his contract.

He is expected to coach the rest of this season, and some within the organization wonder what Scott might do with a better roster. The one he has now has produced an 11-44 record, second-worst in the NBA.

Others, however, wonder about the effectiveness of the tough love he administers to the team’s many young players.

Torn ? Yeah why not waste another season after all.
