Re: Coach mode sliders?

The problem I'm finding is that the Qb's #1 target is always the slot receiver. So you have your 3rd receiver leading the team in catches.

Re: Coach mode sliders?

I've come to the coclusion that until a patch for the 360 is released there is no point in trying to come up with sliders for this game. I'm having my best games right now on default all aa with sp team slightly tweaked. Hopefully the patch fixes the slider issues that are obviously wrong with this game.

Been coaching some games and definitely agree pre-patch you have to go with AA. You get some good games on default AA. Running game could use a little boost bot overall tough teams are hard to beat on AA when coaching. Varsity is too easy to whoop up on teams that are even with you in talent.

Re: Coach mode sliders?

I am playing on the PS3 so my sliders while testing will make a difference. That being said, I am going to start at default and go from there and also try different difficulty levels. One thing to note is that I am a sim style player who will try to play call according to the teams offensive and defensive sim attributes i.e. run the ball much more with Navy as opposed to Texas Tech, and vice versa.

First trial game:

Difficulty: Varsity
Quarter length: 9 minutes
Teams: Army (Me) at Eastern Michigan

Score: Eastern Michigan - 33
Army- 31

Stats: Army -- Eastern Michigan

First Downs: 15 -- 20
Total Offense: 292 -- 367
Rushing: 35-139-3 -- 33-80-2
Passing: 13-21-1 -- 21-33-1
Passing Yards: 153 -- 287
Turnovers: 1 (INT) -- 1 (INT)
Penalties: 1-5 -- 3-30

Thoughts about game:

Pleasantly surprised about the quality of game on default sliders. Looking at the overall numbers for each team I would have to say that they are not perfect, but pretty close. Looking at individual attributes for players on each team, I say they are on track with the performances on the field. Both defenses are worse than their offenses and the score reflected it. I counted 124 total plays for both teams which is on par with total plays for a college game I think. Let me know if I am way off here. Anyway, I am going to try AA on default and report back.

Re: Coach mode sliders?

My second game was a bit of a surprise. I decided this time to have two of the best programs in college football go at it. I coached USC against Florida in the swamp. Not what I expected and I will give my thoughts at the end of this post.

Second trial game:

Difficulty: All American
Sliders: Default
Quarter length: 9 minutes
Teams: USC Trojans (Me) at Florida Gators

Score: USC- 24
Florida- 14

Stats: USC -- Florida

First Downs: 16 -- 9
Total Offense: 298 -- 193
Rushing: 39-108-1 -- 20-6-0
Passing: 16-29-0 -- 17-25-1
Passing Yards: 190 -- 187
Turnovers: 3 (INT) -- 2 (INT)
Penalties: 1-10 -- 0-0

Thoughts on the game:

First impression of this game was the how strong the defensive side of the ball was on both sides. Defensive line play dominated on both sides until the final quarter when the offense started to pick up a little. The game was tied 7-7 going into the fourth quarter and both scores were pick 6's. One glaring issue because of the monster d-lines is the lack of effectiveness on screen plays and option plays (which really hurt Florida). I am going to address the defensive sliders a bit to tone down the d-line. Also need to possibly up the user FG power as it seems pretty weak compared to the attributes of the user kicker. There was a total of 113 plays this time around. Back to the lab (Going to play same teams but at USC this time with default sliders to see what the stats look like).

Re: Coach mode sliders?

I think All-American might be the way to go this year coaching. I'm on 360 so I don't have the patch but I'm getting some good games on All-American.

Re: Coach mode sliders?

I played a "coach" game last night with North Texas (Me) VS UL-Monroe. The final score was NT-38 and ULM-20. I was playing on default AA. I don't remember all the stats right off hand but here are the main points:

1. my RB had 24 carries for 108 yds and 1 TD. Running game seemed to be pretty much in order. But, when I was trying to run the clock under 5 minutes to go I couldn't get anything when they stacked the box.
2. I had 12 sacks... this is way too high, but I did select the option in the pregame menu to have an aggressive DL gameplan (jump the snap). Don't know how much this matters as I got the game sunday and haven't really started playing.
3. I threw one pick 6 and they threw 2.
4. My QB had fairly accurate stats. One complaint I had was that he always seemed to check off to the underneath route. I would call a play with a deep route or fade only to have him throw it 5 yards to the rb out of the backfield or the slot reciever.
