Do you even know what you're talking about??

Re: Reason for Lowering Speed Threshold

Nah actually its a huge disadvantage and its very unrealistic if you take the time to calculate the exact numbers 55 thresh on normal speed is simulation football. This is coming from someone who used to love 0 thresh sliders. Well not anymore realistic football pass defense can only be captured with a higher threshold because the linebackers are way to slow plain and simple

Re: Reason for Lowering Speed Threshold

I solely opt for a lower (40) thresh (on AA/slow) for the simple reason that players run very accurate 40 times....so yes, a WR will burn a LB.....and no guys with 90SPD are not magically run down from behind by a DE.

I tried the game set at zero and saw WR's running 4.3's and (good)LB's running 4.9-5.2's.....I know that there are a handful of delusional people out there who think their favorite player simply blows by everyone and cant be caught (which is fine), but to me - "0" creates unrealistic seperation and returns the game to "just recruit flat out speed and you will win." which was the downfall of the series for a long time.

The game also plays fun set at 60-65 as well with the right adjustments but again....for me the 40-45 range creates NCAA-like timing.

Re: Reason for Lowering Speed Threshold

I'm not sure that I understand the obsession with obtaining realistic 40 times and realistic separation downfield. The simple fact is that unrealistic things happen during each play in this game. I am NOT complaining. But if you think of each play as a "system", all of the components of that system (such as player speed, reaction time, ball speed, etc) should interact cohesively. You don't take a model car and put life-size tires on it.

If ANY other variable does not behave in a "realistic" fashion, it is not a realistic representation anyway. Maybe separation SHOULD be greater than real-life if, say, defender reaction time is DECREASED from real life. To me, how the game feels and the statistics it yields are far more important than accurate 40 times.

Furthermore, QBs in real-life have much more control over their passes than we have with the lead-passing feature. You NEED a larger target if your using a shotgun vs a 9mm. Am I wrong?
