Re: FistofRage's Heisman Sliders

Just finished a game with the new set:

I played as Alabama on the road against Penn St.

1st half Penn St. came out firing! Unstoppable opening drive for a TD, then followed by a field goal. I couldn't do anything on offense - ridiculous pass rush, great coverage, lots of penalties on me early, I was 3-and-out a few times to start the game. 10-0.

Ensuing kickoff, I returned it 94 yards for a TD, up the middle no less. Then I was able to settle into my offense a bit.

Penn St. kicked another FG to make it 13-7, and I drive down to kick a field goal just before halftime. 13-10. (still losing)

2nd half, about the middle of the 3rd quarter, I drove the length of the field using good rushing and play-action. I scored a touchdown on a toss on 4th and goal from the 1. Great drive.

Penn St. could never answer. Although they did bounce a FG off the cross-bar in the middle of the 4th quarter.

Lots of speed on defense, not much offense for either team.

Here are the results:

Score: Bama(me) 17 - Penn St. 13
First Downs: 11 / 12
Total Offense: 205 yds / 209 yds
Rushes-Yds-TD: 31-94-1 / 30-99-1
Comp-Att-TD: 10-22-0 / 9-26-0
Passing Yds: 111 / 110
3rd Dwn Conv: 3-12(25%) / 4-14(28%)
4th Dwn Conv: 1-2(50%) / 1-2(50%)
Red Zone-TD-FG: 1-1-0(100%) / 4-1-2(75%)
Turnovers: 1 / 1
Fumbles (Lost): 0(0) / 0(0)
Interceptions: 1 / 1
Punts Avg: 3-39.0 / 3-41.0
Penalties-Yds: 4-35 / 2-10
TOP: 18:34 / 13:26
TFL: 15 / 6
Sacks: 4 / 1
Pass Deflections: 10 / 7
Field Goals: 1-2 / 2-3
WR Drops: 1 / 1
Pancakes: 0 / 0
Broken Tackles: 0 / 3

One main point. My bread and butter running the pro-style offense is hitting the tight end running up the seam. Penn St. had this covered all day. Slants were covered, great defense. The most success I had was rolling my quarterback out on play-action and finding an open receiver running toward the sideline. Hit my tight end and full back all day.

Tough sledding for the offenses in this game. But it was fun!

Let me know what you think.

Re: FistofRage's Heisman Sliders

Your stats looked pretty decent for defensive teams...I am going to open up the passing a hair.

changing minutes per quarter to 9. Lowering human human run block to 50 lowering both int to 35 and putting pass coverage at 5. Raising AI RBA to 50...going to replay the LSU game.

Might put threshhold down to 25 because looking at the speed ratings, everyone seems clumped together for the most part, make 1 or 2 points make a little more difference.

Replayed the LSU game with current sliders and won 31-24.......going to make a few more changes. It was a good game, but I shouldn't be doing this to LSU, I don't think.

You should try a rematch of a bowl game from last year. You should play as TCU on the road against Wisconsin. Might have your hands full with that match-up.

human sliders seem about right. going to try to open up the AI passing just a little bit more. I'll try TCU @ Wisky tonight.

Mustangs84

BTW, I just played a quick game playing as Auburn on the road against Clemson. It played out just like my last game at Penn St.

I was about to go up by 7 when I fumbled the ball crossing the goal line in the 3rd quarter. Clemson picked it up and ran it 99 yards for a touchdown, so I got pissed off and quit the game.

Starting a new game right now. I'm having trouble with the passing game still. Very strong defensive games so far for me.
