The coaching sliders are from the most recent BuffEye's Roster
Where aggressiveness for OFF and DEF has been adjusted (Along with playbooks etc.)
In my OD I did notice the middle of the field open more on Heisman
I think this is primarily the CPU DEF AI calling so much Zone Coverage along with blitzing
That being said... In my OD I think I have an older version of that roster that does NOT have the coaching sliders adjusted - I will have to check as my OD is on hold until I can get my base Heisman set
My first test game with the most recent rosters (and adjustments to coaching sliders) I did NOT notice the middle of the field open as much or as much zone coverage. The numbers I put up in the Utah State / Toledo game were hard earned passing yards. I was VERY aggressive with Keeton and threw into very tight coverage most of the day.
Very pleased with this and I believe a major contributor was indeed the coaching slider adjustments of the latest BuffEye roster. If you do not have it yet - You have to get it.
Regarding the varsity sliders...
I used fist of rages and they did play pretty well except for the CPU offense again... a show stopper for me because I love to play USER defense
The offense was challenging but I won EVERY game my first season with the Gophers (yeah right...) It got old quick
I should be able to get my SDSU - BYU game in this evening and I will also be watching for coverage / man / zone and "across the middle" passes to slot and TE
Game played surprisingly well for 'stock' settings. Funny we spend all this time on settings, when 'default' played pretty daggum well. I dominated the game, scoring two TD very quickly, getting up 14-0. I got into the RZ 3 times, and was unable to get in the end zone, kicking 3 FG.
Their QB went through a couple of 'hot' periods, which is fine. He did throw 4 picks though, all were pretty good plays by DB's.
Skill Level: Heisman
Speed Threshold: 45
Quarter: 9 Minutes
Speed: Slow
Home Field Advantage: Off
Strategy Settings: no changes except Clock Management
USER
-5 to both CPU and USER QB
More analysis of BASE settings with another game
Also moving speed threshold down to 45
-5 helps allow RBs and QBs outrun slower lineman and linebackers
I was starting to see the run game suffer on Heisman as the CPU defenders were closing too quick
These were circumstances where I would compare speed ratings of players to justify this change
1st Half Analysis:
Ball State 17, UCF (USER) 14
This game is playing great
The speed threshold setting on 45 is something I have used previously and I still think this is a great setting for realistic separation on Heisman
I have not played my best game
I missed a FG in the 1st quarter
I like the decrease in FG accuracy for user
I made a few plays to get back in the game late in the second before the CPU marched down with less than 2 minutes for the go ahead TD
Stat lines are great
Subtle QB Accuracy adjustments appear to be helping
I am starting to think that the cliche "less is more" might apply to Hesiman
I might be ready to sign off on a base set that allows the game to play very close to Heisman with some very subtle tweaks in the next few games
I am poised to play a smart 2nd half utilize the ground game and beat Ball State

This was a great playing game
UCF caused a fumble after kicking off to Ball State in the second half that put us up 21-17
I was feeling good about my chances at that point
A very high amount of dropped passes (8) for user this game and some were very costly in such a close game
That being said some GREAT pass breakups by the secondary
The combination of the QB and USER QB Accuracy produced some very realistic passes and the stats show that these along with the dropped passes and pass break ups were costly
The CPU accuracy at times felt too pin point and I would consider dropping the CPU QB Accuracy again
I am also considering dropping the CPU WR Catching just to analyze
Only 1 sack for the USER defense this game and this contributed to the success of the CPU passing
1 sack for the CPU but unfortunately this lack of pressure did not transform to success in the passing game
Pancake stats over the last 2 games have been very even
This was a very competitive fun game that could have easily gone either way and was decided by a few key plays including a missed USER FG and some costly dropped passes that would have resulted in TDs
We are on to something with the "Less is More" mantra
