Aggresive 3-3-5 / 3-5-3/ 4-2-5

Has anyone tried to be aggresive blitzing out of these pass-defending formations? I figure lots of speed you should be able to get into the backfield, its just if your guy gets blocked. What have been yall's results?

335 is a great blitzing D...especially against teams that use empty formations, or only have 6 blockers. Recently sacked Peyton Manning 10 times in a game and beat the Colts with it.

4-2-5 is amazing to blitz out of. Vs run/ play action teams call middle blitz - amazing. Against pass teams call both SS blitz and it's a great pass rush. It's so easy to blitz out of it's rediculous

I find the 4-25 to be a bit cheap. If you don't have the discipline to not call mid-blitz every play you will end up with like 50 sacks on one player. Since I fall under the "undisciplined" camp, I don't use it anymore as it's very game-breaking. I create all my own plays instead, which is frustrating because you can't make adjustments so goodbye press coverage.

Re: Aggresive 3-3-5 / 3-5-3/ 4-2-5

I suggest taking a base 4-3 wiping out all plays except a few Gl and the 4-3, nickle, and dime version of 2-man under, and creating your own plays. This allows the players to learn the playbook faster, as it will be smaller even if you add 20 plays, and it can be really fun to get deep into the editor, and give you an appreciation for what you really need on a team, and what you don't. For example, If you make plays and find that you always blitz your weak-side linebacker, then you can set your philosophy to "power/blitzer" instead of say "balanced", and get a more accurate measure of what works in YOUR system. It saves money in the long run as role-players tend to be cheaper than high OVR guys that don't fit your system. The only draw back is that you will need man coverage/ballhaw Cb's as you cannot make adjustments and press on created plays.

It's weird because I draw up all sorts or football plays on notebooks but I really don't make many plays on head Coach. On defense all my created plays are crazy blitzes

I have crazy blitz syndrome too. Probably because I realize that most plays leave gaps for 3rd 4th or 5th recievers so we better bring everybody to get to the QB fast. Which just leaves me thinking I'm the nerdy sports-fan version of Rex Ryan. Which makes me want a sandwhich. But seriously, I always quit and reload careers UNLESS I make all the plays and therefore it would be a pain to start again. It makes you play sower and enjoy it longer.
