That's different from being benched. Martin played well at Tackle. Maybe

we will see this combo again.

I was hoping we would sign Leary, when he was here before he was great

on short yardage.

I really have a bad feeling Cleveland is going to torch us next week.

Here’s the thing, Cleveland’s O isn’t in the same league as the first 3 we played.

My concern is more on our O play calling. We torched Seattle all game 10+ in the passing game. Those screens were so dumb.

I expect a run here though as the schedule softens a little.

How quickly can we sign Earl? We need a leader in the secondary.

Also, we pick the worst times to commit penalties. It’s crazy.

I really liked the changes they made on the OL during the game. I also certainly hope they keep Martin out at RT until La’el returns. Dak clearly had more time. I thought Looney did a good job at RG but I’m not certain he might be better used at Center. Biadasz has a couple snaps that were a little high. As for Leary, I would have liked for him to be added as insurance however that’s all he really would be. From all reports out of Denver he’s not the same player he was when he left Dallas. That knee (the reason he wasn’t drafted) really affects his movements now. They did the right thing by sticking with the younger guys in my opinion.

Against Cleveland I think our secondary will look a lot better. Baker is average at best. The if he shreds our secondary we’re in a lot more trouble than I thought. 8-8 might be a pipe dream if guys like Baker are killing us.

I do fear Chubb against our run defense though. They have a stable of really good running backs and Chubb in my opinion is a top 5 RB. That’s where I think our defense might really struggle. If they can’t contain the run Baker might actually really hurt Dallas with the play action in the second half.

According to Stephen today they have no plans to bring in any veteran defensive backs. They think they have the right guys on the roster already.

If this is true then they really think the problem is Nolan. Nolan might not make it to week 6 if that’s the case.

We got screwed on a lot of penalties too. It wasn't why we lost,
but damn I would like some consistency. Gallup was pushed in the
back on that deep pass with 4 minutes left. I just felt they didn't
call it both ways. Jaylon's penalty was BS too.. Even the Fox team
thought if anything it was offsetting penalties.

I think Steven is thinking long term. They cut a lot of salary this year,
because the rules let them push it into next year 2021.

Tyron and Lawrence took a bonus to lower their cap it. Something like
18 Mill or more saved. That is to sign Dak. If they sign a big name.
They wont have money next year for Dak. I'd love to have ET, but it
aint happening. They will only bring in cheap guys, I doubt ET plays for
peanuts.

I think what Steven Jones is saying is...Why spend money when the
division is so bad?

How much would you expect ET to get? Considering we are now almost 4 weeks into the season and considering he’s had 2 high profile SB contending teams just cut him I wouldn’t think any team would offer him more than the vet min on a non-guaranteed contract for just the remainder of the season.

We are going to find out shortly. He is leaning towards signing with
the Texans.

Re: Dallas Cowboys War Room

The Cowboys are now saying Collins might need surgery. This is a big blow.
really big. If that is the case. We should sign Leary. That way we can move
Williams or Martin to Right Tackle.

His car accident must have been worse that they said.
