Quick question. How did you guys come to be Texans fans? With the expansion there wouldn't be the whole heredity thing or childhood team thing, so how did you guys become Texans fans?

Lived in Houston as a teenager. Was 14 when the Texans started up. I was an Oilers and Titans fan until then.

I'm going to bump this. If someone wants to create a new thread without a year attached that we can use going forward, that would be great.

I adopted the Texans as my team prior to the 2009 season. I've lived in Alabama my whole life and with no NFL franchise, I chose Houston.

Enjoyed the performance on Monday against NYJ and have been pleased thus far tonight against the Saints.

I'd love to drum up some Texans discussion for the 2011 season.

edit: Really excited about what Ben Tate can bring to this team as Foster's backup.

Their first team has looked great through these first two games (aside from the still shoddy secondary). If they can somehow find a way to shore that up then I have no doubt they will make the playoffs this year.

Joseph isn't even playing tonight. He's the no. 1 corner. I'm reserving judgement until he's out here.

All we need is for the defense to be between 12-17 overall. That's a bounce that is not uncommon for Wade Phillips-led defenses.

And stay healthy. Please stay healthy.

The team was 6-10 but was literally about 6 plays away from being 9-7 or so.

I really think the draft and the offseason helped not only talent-wise, but just the mood that the owner is willing to recognize deficiencies and address them accordingly.
