The savestate in 2K20 might be for an older version of 2KHS!

Use the savestate from default 2KHS, remove the 2K20 one... Test that instead.

After that you go to roster load screen and load roster manually. You can save your own savestate here.

When you have a working savestate in the slot 2K20 uses, the startup might even work as it should...

Man this is awesome! Thanks so much for all of your work! NHL2K21 lives!! NHL2K8 was ALWAYS my favorite game. Custom arena music (Are you Ready For This etc. during the opening) plus tons of custom options plus the classic teams! Can't be beat!! MUCHO KUDOS to you man! YOU ROCK!!
