You really have to suck to have Shepard die at the end, so you shouldn't have to worry about that. Just make sure you tie up all the loose ends and you should be good. So basically anything inciderary is good against them? I have Zaeed's inferno grenade from that advanced training upgrade so that should help.

Incinerate eats up armor as does warp. Warp also seems to work well on shields and barrier.

But I got the hankering to do a quick playthrough of ME1 before I start

If you don't have a character from ME1 to import into the second game then I would go through ME1 first.

I actually wouldn't have minded going through the first game again because I find myself saying "Who?" or "What?" sometimes when they mention some people or events/locations from the first game.

So my profile got deleted and I need to go back and get ME1 . Are there any add ons for ME1 that would matter in ME2 or can I just leave them alone? P/R points or any references? I'm gonna try and knock it out quick before NCAA 11 drops.

If you start a new ME 2 character some people just won't be there. Also applies if they die in ME 1.

Bring Down the Sky was pretty solid. I suspect that it will eventually have an effect but I'm pretty sure it didn't in this game.
