Um, yeah I have played RDR. RDR's random events was obviously based on what they had already done in GTA4 except they made each event smaller in scope while allowing more "random" events to occur. I suppose RDR's stranger encounters would have been a more accurate comparison, but whatever.

I'm not going to argue with you over which R* game had the best "living, breathing world" feel because they both create a gaming world that really feels alive.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

I'm curious what City GTA V will be in and what the theme of it will be.

GTA III = Mafia
GTA: VC= Cocaine
GTA: SA= Early 90's West Coast gangs
GTA IV= The American Dream

Each city(or region) had a central theme that meshed really well. All these games were also satires of America, this is really overlooked IMO and it is what makes GTA games so great. I assume GTA V will continue this tradition of pairing cities with central themes, here are a few off the top of my head:

1930's Chicago= Gang wars and corrupt politics
Present day Southern Boarder= Mexican Cartels and drugs
Detroit= Unemployment and hopelessness
Any Major city= Islamic Xenophobia

1950's = Afraid of Russian Bombs....

I would love to see a GTA in the 50s, 60s, or 70s.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

After seeing the movie Pride and Glory, I would like there to be a GTA story somewhat similar to how the story worked in that movie. Of course, we play as the Edward Norton character that is in that movie.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

I think New Orleans would be fun for GTA, not only for the music but just because you know R* would do some great social/political commentary.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

I'd kinda like to see a GTA in Europe, perhaps involving the mafia in Italy or Russia.

That is an excellent point. Especially now it is coming out how corrupt some of the police were in that time.

after the disastrous GTA:London, I have to imagine that R* is hesitant to go back to Europe.
