Re: Grand Theft Auto V

My parents never had an issue with me playing violent video games. They raised me to be smart enough to know what is right and wrong, and the difference between fiction and reality.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

To be honest, I have no idea how anyone could be negatively affected by GTA games. Yeah, it's a lot of fun to drive around Miami listening to 80's music, kill a few drug lords and then drive back to your mansion which you obtained by killing the city's biggest dealer. Is it fun to jump out of a chopper, land on top of a building and shoot random people, then jump down and set cars on fire? ABSOLUTELY.

Would I ever think of doing anything like that in real life? Hell no, not in a million years. It's called being an intelligent human being, and no such being would ever think about replicating GTA in real life.

So yes, there will be idiots who maybe do things from GTA on the streets, but they would do the same idiotic thing even if there was no GTA.

That's my two cents on this.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

I've never played FH, but the GTA 5 world is gigantic. Biggest world I can think of that I've seen in a game, off the top of my head (going by how far I've been around compared to map size I have yet undiscovered.)

I'm 25. Kevin Ware's injury bothered me for about a month after I saw it. Theisman's would've made me puke if I saw that live I think. Video games aren't life like enough to bother me.

If you don't have good morals, I guess a GTA game can influence you badly, but like others have said, people with poor morals are likely to get into illegal activity with or without a video game. I mean if some kid plays crackdown and tries to go rooftop jumping, are they going to blame that game? The ESRB rates these games. It's not much different than a violent movie. If parents are responsible there shouldn't be any problems.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

All the crazy movies in the 90s riddled with violence blood sex and gore made GTA 3 child's play to me, which is why I had it when I was 12. My mom and dad couldnt care less because they knew I knew better. Parents are getting too sensitive these days.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

I wasn't allowed to own GTA as a kid. Of course i played it iver at friends houses though.

I did trick my parents into getting me True Crimes though. Lol. They were at first saying that it was like GTA and I told them that you were a cop that stopped the stuff in GTA from happening. I was a sneaky one back then.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

Just because kids are exposed to certain things at a young age, doesn't mean they should be. I don't wanna derail the thread, so moving on...

Can't wait until Tuesday though. I'm getting ready to hit it big on the Bawsaq (LMAO!), buy me a crib and have bitches running all through that thang!
