Man, the hits to the feels this game gives you. Just completed the Collateral Damage mission, goddamn that ending sucks.....

Add Hill 493 to that list. These late game missions really start to increase the gut punches.

Re: Call Of Duty WWII

Just finished the campaign. Holy ****. It's rare that a game gets to me, but those final missions and the epilogue, damn, it got to me.

First, on a general note, damn those cutscenes looked amazing during some of the later missions. It at times felt like I was watching a real Hollywood movie/miniseries akin to Saving Private Ryan, Battle of the Bulge, The Longest Day, Fury or Band of Brothers, it just seemed so realistic, like you were looking at real people in those cutscenes.

Second, comments post-epilogue, so spoilers ahead unless you have beaten the game:

Oh absolutely, that part of the mission had me on edge, which it takes a lot for a game to get me to do. And I agree, the people who had to do that in real life, when it was literally pull it off or face certain death, I can't even begin to feel or understand what they felt and went through.

Here, you get caught, you reload to the previous checkpoint. You get caught in that situation in real life, you either get executed, or worse, which considering the things the Nazis did, just straight up death in some cases really was the better way out rather than be forced to suffer through the multitude of other human atrocities they committed.

Hopefully I kept this reply is vague enough to not need spoilers, but if someone feels it should have them, I'll happily throw them on.

Even bot matches are fun. They even PTFO pretty well in Domination.

I almost lost to regular difficulty bots, as the Allies, on the D Day Operation Neptune War map. I made it through off the beaches alright, captured the bunkers, then ended up barely managing to destroy the enemy communications with less than 20 seconds on the clock. Destroying the artillery guns went a little better but not much. I was shocked at how much the bots were whooping my *** during the game.

I just did a match of Gridiron on Gustav Cannon so I could focus on learning the map, and damn, those bastards can shoot and set up traps! I ran the ball almost all the way across the map, my teammates clearing the way for me, I made my last sprint into the enemy base to score only to have a guy with a shotgun turn the corner right as I ran in the door and blast me in the face.

Now, I might have been pissed in the past, but the only thing I could do was start laughing, think of Home Alone 2 and say " Ow! Right in the schnoz!" That's still making me grin like an idiot right now just thinking about it.

I'm planning in diving into real MP here at some point (I'm looking forward to War now that I've played it in private match and the always classic Capture the Flag, which has been a must for me since clear back to the Halo 1 days), right now just doing some private matches with bots so I can better learn the maps before having to fight my way through them against real players.
