I literally just made it North of Limgrave . I’ve only been playing for 25 hours and am at level 42 . I’ve taken to the very very scenic route.

Re: Elden Ring

For all of the QoL's this game has compared to other Fromsofts, would it be too much to ask to have lifts reset their position on player death, so that you don't have to pull a lever every time you make your "corpse" run? I've also seen plenty of bloodstains of people just running off the edge where a lift should be to their deaths.

Re: Elden Ring

Here is how to get Elden Ring on PC to run in ultrawide and uncapped frame rate.

One thing it does not say is that you should not run the game from Steam, it won't work...go into the Elden Ring folder and double click on the eldenring.exe and it will work then.

Click on my pic below to see what it looks like in Ultrawide on the PC

Re: Elden Ring

Absolutely addicted hook, line and sinker.

This is not an action RPG for the faint of heart. It is challenging and absolutely does not hold your hand one iota.

Combat is tactical and you must really learn what to do and building out a character that fit’s your playing style.

I took on the Samurai build which has a Katana and a Bow. I love to sneak as well as have speed and range. This build fit’s my play style like a glove.

The joy of this game is the discovery. And also knowing at every corner there could be certain death if you are not on your toes. Having a mount is crucial not only to survival but also to deep exploration and combat.

You are gonna die......a lot. Over and over and over. If you cannot handle failure to ultimately have some rewarding success this is not a game for you.

The map is huge. And the lore unfolds the deeper you get. I am only about 7 hours in and am grinding as I want to level up a lot more before doing some dungeon crawling and taking on some of the massive beasts and bosses I have already seen and have run away from.

It is not a graphical marvel at all. This game oozes old school difficulty and is truly an open world RPG that I will sink over 100 hours into no doubt in my mind.

This is my first real “Souls” game. I was craving a really big and true open world RPG with fun combat and this hits that mark for me. It is an acquired taste as far as this game and it’s design. It is not for everyone.

I am glad I took a chance on it. We are head deep.

And......TARNISHED!!!

It may not be in the traditional sense in terms of sheer graphical power and textures, but this is a very, very aesthetically pleasing game. It's almost like the world is handcrafted by scratch, every inch. Everything has a purpose for where it is in the world - I heard someone say it looks like concept art at times and I have to agree, some of the environments (especially when you get out of Limgrave) are stunning and at times terrifying

It's a very pretty game lol

That's a smaaaall slice of the pie too

Re: Elden Ring

If you guys haven't tried horseback combat with a colossal sword, please give it a try. Use your heavy attack and you can repeatedly launch enemies into the air with an uppercut. It never gets old for me. I've been playing more on my PS5 strength build save than my PC Dex/int build save and a big part is uppercutting 90% of the open world mobs. It's kind of broken lol. If they are an enemy type who gets staggered easily or launched into the air, you can stunlock them.

It looks really nice.....I was saying though the graphics are not the draw for me as the best thing about the game.

I have seen some beautiful landscapes and snapped some great screen shots as well.
