Thanks for all your kind comments so far. Like you, I have desired to get more of a graphical interface, but some games, while not on the same level as a Madden or PES, have adopted some type of interface to "watch" the games. That usually entails just a few numbers or logos bumbling about, but still, it can be quite exciting. Maybe we'll get there one day, but I'd imagine that it would come from the console side, who would boost up their sim engines.

As for the NBA sim, I can vouch for the quality of Draft Day Pro basketball. If not, we could all run Total Pro Basketball, the game where I mentioned Afternee Witherspoon.

Thanks again.

Re: The Sexiness of Text Simulations

Just a quick note...the link provided in the second-to-last paragraph of the "The Wikipedia-esque Element" is a link to the Developer Journal for Total Extreme Wrestling 2008, and not WMMA. I don't know if you have the wrong link or typed WMMA instead of TEW, but just a heads-up.

I only notice it right away because I'm a big fan of the Extreme Warfare Revenge; and subsequent Total Extreme Wrestling games.

Note: Jerry Springer is from Cincinnati. As a thirty year professional sports journalist, take some advice: Facts checking. Know it. Live it.

And the river burning happened nearly 40 years ago. Get over it.

It's looked at as a watershed moment from environmentalists to start a movement in this country to begin forcing corporate America to stop dumping toxins in the waterways. At that time, it could have happened in any major city that had a river.

Thank you. We were glad to help.

Today, the mouth of the Cuyahoga is absolutely beautiful after a radical change in corporate mentality and extensive NATIONAL legislation to clean-up all urban waterways.

But we'll keep the Cleveland jokes coming as fast as we can think of them. We do it so you people WILL STAY THE F**K AWAY. Stay where you are. Do not come to a place with radical elevation changes and a forest that is adjacent to one of the largest freshwater lakes on the planet. Not a place you want to be. It's hideous. STAY WHERE YOU ARE. Do not come here. Believe everything you hear us put out.

Thank you.

You may continue on with your life as you see fit.

(For the record, FastBreak Basketball was the first Internet league text sim. I know, I helped program that portion of the game and ran the first ever league. Just like I did with Markus and Steve at OOTP in version 2 and 3.)

Re: The Sexiness of Text Simulations

The funny thing about text sims is how attached you can get to certain names and, if you're lucky, faces. I now root for guys like Jair Jurrjens, Danko Lazovic, and Chris Brunt just because they were on my teams in text sims.

I still remember installing the original Front Office Football on a computer in my high school's lab and playing it whenever I had the chance. Good times.
