A Feeling of Emptiness: Missed Game Series

Over the past several years, a lot of popular sports gaming series have left us. Richard Chavez has put together a list of the most missed sports video games series. Check out his article, A Feeling of Emptiness: Missed Game Series.

Quote:
"With so many different sports games releasing every season, it’s easy to forget that there were many more just a few years ago. Exclusive licenses, changing times and companies folding took these games away during their primes, but they will live on in our hearts. These are a few sports series I wish I could still play."

NFL2k5 is overrated. Every QB played exactly the same. The player progression was already coded into the game, the players moved with a glide, FPS football was useless and the crib feature was unintentionally humorous. Given that, the actual game of football played was nothing spectacular. Sure, it looked more realistic, but it didnt play any better than any football game that year.

It was a very good sports game, but had major flaws that seem to go overlooked. It seems to get more praise than its due because it is different than the 'other' game. It looked more like real football, but was very far off from what real football actually is.

If it had time, NFL football 2k8 would have been the best sports game ever made.

OH and bring back Cyberball...

Is LINKS Golf still around?? I wish that they would make a golf game that rivaled Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods is a good game but it is too "video gamey." I want a realistic golf game. Much like Top Spin 3 does for tennis and NBA 2k8 did for baskeball (if you turn down the dunk slider to 40). I hate the "power boost" giving your golfer an extra 40-50 yards and worst of all is spinning your ball while it is in the air. HORRIBLE!! I wish that they would make the players visually smaller so the graphics could get a little better for the crowds and more detailed. Anyways, im done..

The series I miss is NBA Live...wait they still make that....well I miss the NBA Live that was promising back in 2000!

NFL 2k had such potential....would have loved to see what that game could have become.
