Re: 2018 Fitness Challenge

Hitting the road again; third time in a five-week stretch. Working 12-plus hours a day, finding the time to workout is a challenge. Eating is also tough, but after doing this grind for a while, I've gotten better about the choices I make.

The goal for this week is to run twice and do a couple of 15-min bodyweight circuits.

Exactly the same situation for me. Been on the road a LOT the last few months, and it makes trying to get into an exercise routine tough. It's not a great excuse, but as far as excuses go, it's actually not the worst.

So, while my exercise has gotten worse, I'm controlling what I can, which is my eating. Trying to eat sensibly and it's actually had a positive impact I think. Portion control as well is key for me. Otherwise, I can basically eat as much food as you put in front of me....

Intermittent fasting might be a great choice for you guys on the road.

Re: 2018 Fitness Challenge

Since starting, and despite having "bad" days, I have dropped from 236 LBS down to just under 218 LBS (217.8)

I'm not going to lie, this feels really good. And I haven't really been that committed to a proper routine, as I still eat fast food at times or snack on junk food. But I am walking/jogging and once the weather really warms up where I can do yard work, I expect to lose more.

Feeling good about myself. This is just the beginning, as I need to lose a hell of a lot more to be healthy, but this is a good start considering I'm not the most committed person.

My ideal weight is 165. 170-175 would be ok.

I’m only 5’8

So I’ve got another 50lbs to go.

Re: 2018 Fitness Challenge

My wife and I are looking for easy ways to eat healthy.

We both stay busy unti 7pm most nights and with two kids it's a struggle finding time to meal prep. We have talked about the whole Keto and Paleo diet and it's on the table, but it's not something I'm crazy about.

Anyone with similar issues have any tips or suggestions ? I workout 4-5, but results are slow because truthfully out diet sucks. I don't really eat sweets or drink soda so that helps a lot, but it's too easy just to grab something we would feed the kids who have a ridiculous metabolism.
