Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.

I was wondering what region or country would be the first to stop counting its Covid-19 cases and deaths because they were making the government look bad. I figured it might be some communist or authoritarian country. Turns out it is Brazil which was still a democratic country last time I checked.

Must be a nightmare to be a health professional there.

Yup. It's almost like I predicted it a couple of pages ago.

Actually I think that honor should go to North Korea who has been denying they have any cases at all from the start.

I'm sure China would say they had zero if not for the fact that they started the whole thing. They would need one of those MIB flash things.

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.

I know we have a work from home thread, but it seems relevant here.

Our CEO sent out an e-mail a few weeks ago updating everyone on when to expect returning to the office and even hinted at the possibility that we won't be back until 2021. When I left the office for the last time in early March I never would have thought that I would not return until next year.

I'm still seeing people adhere to social distancing for the most part, but I've also started seeing/hearing more instances of people returning to "normal". My neighborhood pool opened up a couple weeks ago, and people are always there, a couple of friends have returned to going to the gym, I've seen more instances of people shopping without without facemasks, etc...

We surpassed 110k US deaths this week as well. It still seems kind of crazy people were hanging their hat on that non-peer reviewed Stanford study a month or so ago when we were already at 50k deaths.

It's a fair point but the reason I didn't mention North Korea is because they never started counting cases.

EDIT: And if the police are too busy with protesting, riots, and looting, who is going to enforce all of these rules?
Guess you didn't read a few pages back then.
