Re: BCFX review on OXM website

DT - Glad you understood and took it for what it was worth.

Weeman33 makes some great point. Can't question that. The flip play audible indeed does not work as it should, but I've figured a way around that in the play calling menu (RT). Have not experienced the "anvil" drop...lol, but I understood your point on the "mag mitts" although it really wasn't that bad for me. Does this game need a little polish? of course. I kept a fair and balanced mind prior to purchasing. I knew on some levels ($$) that it would not be able to compete just yet, but a good first step in the console direction nonetheless.

Now the good part. The halftime experience in this game simply rocks!. As a Musician, the moment I heard "Knights" took me back to an earlier time in my life and for a moment I thought about cranking up the Marshalls . My gaming sound system consist of a pair of 250w digitally enhanced speakers, and folks let me tell ya, it was as if the band was literally in my home. I understand the "experience" factor in BCFX. If you've ever been to an HBCU game the atmosphere definately is in this game. Only thing missing is the smell of hotdogs and popcorn.

Yeah they really nailed the atmosphere in this game.

They also have a solid grasp of Xs and Os with the playbooks and the way players run routes, blitz and cover.

The animations just need some work (lots of clipping and jerkiness) and the player/ball physics need some improvement and they will be ready to contend with NCAA Football if they choose to follow up with a sequel next year.

Yeah I didn't elaborate too much on the X's and O's (I figured you had it covered). The more you play the more you notice the little nuances of gameplay, in a good way.

IMO, it is/was a good purchase, I'll be playing a few HBCU grads this weekend on a 71 in. HD screen. Also, there a 4 different levels of play from Freshman to Senior. I'm running it in 1080i.

Everyone have a great weekend!

ANOTHER game without a godd*mn franchise mode? It's like these companies want EA to reign supreme forever.

I can see why EA doesn't try. They don't have to. It's amazing that they don't just put out actual roster updates each year. I would. Nobody is even coming close.

Trust me, with as bad as the CPU is in this game, you wouldn't make it through one season, let alone two or more.

Like most sports games, this is one that's meant to be played head-to-head.

With the Internet being more and more prevalent in our culture, games are going to continue to focus more on online than offline.

I don't blame the game-makers, either, since it's a ton more fun playing live opponents -- each with a unique approach to the game -- instead of your typical AI team who is so predictable that they can be figured out and mastered before the first season is even complete.

Madden 10, for example, is a game I would've gotten rid of a long time ago had it not been for the head to head play (especially in the online franchise mode), because even though the AI in that game is atrocious, it matters a lot less when they are under the control of a human coach.

Same for NHL 10 and its excellent EASHL feature.

Typical Gamestop douchebaggery, but that's a topic that we've run down in this forum before, so I won't say anything else about it.

I'll give you guys some impressions once I spend some time with the game.
No such thing at all, I work for GameStop.
