Re: Maximum Football

MaxFB is perhaps the worst game I've ever played. It's about up to PSOne standards in graphics and gameplay.

The one saving grace is the play creator.

That's because MaxFB is not a game like Madden with great graphics, it's about coach mode

I know, but I can't say much positive about the coach mode either. The play calling interface is dire for a start.

Well, let's be fair. MaxFB, in concept, had something for everyone. It was completely customizable - sort of the anti-Madden. Plus, while graphics were not a strong suit, there is an arcade option in MaxFB, like in FBPro, so it was not just another coaching text sim. It could have been a worthy successor to the magical FBPro series.

Emphasis on "could". Like I said, the play editor is good, and the customisation is excellent, but everything else falls down.

Yeah, I know. (Sigh). It really could have been great. I wish he keep going and refined what he had.
