What kind of money could they expect?

little to none lol,

but seriously little to none, it pays better than the arena league (a couple hundred bucks a game??) more around 40 - 100 thousand canadian, enough to buy a house and live comftarbly but it speaks volumes about the league when they can attract the calibre of talent that they do with such little to offer.

Although its not unheard of for under the table deals to get around the 3 million dollar salary cap, some of the best players make around 3-4 hundred thousand. The Edmonton Eskimos even own an apartment building they "sublet" to their players haha.

I think it may be to late in Slashs career for him to rejuvinate things in the NFL playing northern pigskin. But its a league were young players can still make a shot at the NFL and older players can still make a living playing a game they love. Infact now that Ricky Ray is gone there are no starting QBs under 26 years old. Most are early to mid 30s so players stick around and often retire here. The culture and history of the game is great.

None under 26?

Wow. You would think some of those college QBs who didn't get drafted or signed, would be looking to play here. But I guess they could always just fall back on their majors.

Re: Slash in Canada?

Well the thing is that fringe college players usually arent good enough to make it talent wise. They usually sign QBs who are released after there NFL rookie contracts are up. Because of the minimum salary in the nfl based on age they wont get a job and teams will go for the rookie.

It won't last. Pretty soon he'll be the backup to Ben Roethslisberger.
