Backbreaker....I hated it, but some people enjoyed it to a point.

Either way....he never said anything about those games being "great", nor did he say anything worthy of completely dismissing him.

If you choose to, thats up to you. Pretty harsh, though.
Actually, I just played that video a few times times back and forth.

He did say highlight the good times with APF and Backbreaker, the words "he remembers" are not on the video.

To me, that statement means he had some good times with APF and Backbreaker.

Backbreaker was nothing more than a Beta of the Euphoria engine, IMO.

But on topic, the silence on this game is becoming deafening.

I wouldn't expect to hear much of anything concrete until we draw close to E3, the biggest press event of the year for the industry.

That's assuming we hear anything before the conference itself starts, which isn't a given if this project is as super-secret as it has been to this point.

All this just my opinion, of course.

I had good times with Backbreakers team creation

The developers have no say on when official info gets released. That's up to Joe/whoever's publishing the game. It sounds, from some of Damon's tweets, that info was planned to be released a few months ago, but they decided they weren't ready.

Even if this doesn't have anything to do with Microsoft, an E3 booth would serve this game very well. Get people's hands on it and let the word of mouth be part of the marketing.

Unless it's really bad. In that case, they'll probably just keep quiet until release. I don't think that's the case, but we've seen that more times than we should have by now.

It was fun & awesome. If the NFL is still getting their Madden loot (and they will), I am not sure why they would care if fans are replicating their teams and players and enjoying the experience. The fans are not making money doing this. I would think any corporation would love to have fans (who buy their tickets and merchandise and watch their games which drives up their TV rights fees) investing their time and enjoying their product.

In fact, the NFL should call Joe Montana right now (or Joe should call the NFL - he has their number) and insist this (full customization) occurs. The NFL should say we will take care of EA if they threaten a lawsuit!

I have said it before: APF gameplay + NFL 2K5 presentation + BackBreaker logo editor = best game ever!

It's not about the fans or the consumers, it's about getting paid.

Jim Brown sued EA several years ago for replicating him in a NFL football game.

The NFL and EA have a fairly strong relationship. The NFL or EA won't do anything to jeopardize that relationship.

Good for business, sad for consumers.

That guy flat out bashes EA. That's enough to dismiss him. I didn't watch the whole video so I don't know what the point is but if you're bashing people within the first 20 seconds of a video you're gonna have a hard time of getting people to not dismiss you.
He likes to actually see simulation football being played not what ea keeps putting out year after year. One snap on madden 15 you find legacy issues, non realistic football movements, warping, players not being aware of whats around them. Its sad tbh that the developers think madden is anywhere close to being a sim football game at this conjecture.
