I was hopeful, but that video just killed what little there was. Ugh!

That gameplay video reminds me of a less grainy Madden 2000. No line interaction outside of standing up and getting stuck on eachother. I'll just stick to Axis Football until these guys show a better product.

You and me both. Sadly, this seems to be following the same pattern as Maximum Football. Overpromise, underdeliver, and leave the project abruptly when things don't go as planned. So far, #1 and #2 have already happened, and now it's just a matter of time until #3 comes to pass as well. I'll keep an eye on it just like I am Axis and other non-EA football offerings, but it would really need to make a positive leap forward to get me anywhere near considering to purchase.

I don't know All Pro Football 2K9 was pretty darn good. Still plays well now. EA is a big bully but they are showibg signs of complacency. 2K kills in Basketball I wish they came back to both Football and Hockey.

It’s basic but if we had added other features like career mode, etc., we’d have needed much more development time. In the end we decided to spend our time on the core experience rather than trying to add a bunch of modes or trading card features. Perhaps in future versions we can add those options in."

This is the same thing 2K said when they released APF 08 and we see how far that got. This is simply people making the same mistake twice. Even if they snatched up the system from 2k5 and attempted some sort of career made. Maybe something like Blitz "the League". This article took me from excitement to disappointment faster than premature e-jak. $9.99 tops!

2k didn't get the support to make Apf 09. If this game isn't supported the same thing will happen to it. In fact, I'll be shocked if it doesn't.

It takes a lot of development time and money to put what most people feel are required features into a football game. Very few gamers are hardcore enough to support bare bones efforts.

What sucks is Madden 06-09 was fully supported even tho they pretty much did the same thing and because of the exclusive license, if it hadn't been we may be looking at an entirely different landscape with football games. One where exclusive licenses don't exist.

Really reads like something Damon Grow and his fan(s) put together. They're taking shots here and there (mentioning cards in the post above, on their site they say they'll be similar to other games but using 'real football rules') and then are shipping a largely incomplete game by really any standard other than a mobile novelty or tech demo.

Best of luck to them, not interested in a play now experience, can't imagine many are but hopefully they decide to do more.

I'd be fine with a play now experience on the first iteration of a game if the core gameplay actually looked decent. It just looks so bad on every level.

Absolutely. Notwithstanding the prior development mess that Maximum Football was - if the on-the-field play looked at least as nuanced as that in later versions of Madden or 2k Football on the PS2/XBOX - I'd have some interest also. Problem is that it doesn't even seem to have the on-field gameplay of titles from almost 20 years ago.

I'd certainly give it a run if it was bringing something new to the table. Heck, even if the AI needed work, like Maximum Football did, I'd be willing to tweak settings/create plays to make it more playable. I bought the EA Arena Football titles, BCFX, APF 2k8, Maximum Football, Blitz: The League, AXIS FB and others in the past for a new take, so I'm pretty open minded. Maybe an extended gameplay video will change my mind, but based upon what's been shown so far, I'm not expecting much.
