Swansea City 2-2 Arsenal

Benayoun's Extra Time Goal Stuns Swans

The Liberty Stadium- Deep into extra time at deafeningly loud Liberty Stadium, Arsenal midfielder Yossi Benayoun, saved the Gunners from certain defeat with a brilliantly placed strike from 19 yards out that flew just past the outstretched fingertips of a diving Michel Vorm and into the back of the net, breaking the hearts of the Swansea faithful in the process. The goal, Benayoun's first on the season, earned Arsenal a 2-2 draw and allowed them to salvage a point in a match in which they were thoroughly outclassed and by all rights deserved to be beaten. Luck was not entirely with the Gunners however, as 20 year old midfielder Jack Wilshire broke his ankle late in the contest. His injury will keep him out of action until at least April, all but killing Arsenal's chances at a championship.

Arsenal 2-0 Wolverhampton

Gunners Overwhelm Lowly Wolves

The Emirates- A goal in each half by Mikel Arteta along with smothering disciplined defense was more than enough for Arsenal who went on to defeat lowly Wolverhampton by the score of two to nil in round four of the F.A. Cup. Out-shot by 19-1 while holding just 42% of the possession, it could have been much worse for Wolves, but a lack of creativity in the final third time and again hampered the Gunners.

It's Official! Raul To Gunners

London- After a £6,000,000 transfer agreement with German side Shalke 04, Arsenal entered into tense negotiations with 34 year old Spanish striker Raul, with both sides finally agreeing last night on a one year contract worth £52,000 per week. The CF is expected to arrive in London in time for the Gunners BPL match with Bolton on Tuesday.

Raul Impresses In Draw With Bolton

Reebok Stadium- In took just seventeen minutes for Raul to make his mark, heading home a fantastically placed corner kick by Theo Walcott, giving Arsenal an early 1-0 advantage. The game would remain one - nil until finally after several close calls, including two posts, Bolton struck back when Fabrice Muamba headed home a brilliant cross by defender Paul Robinson. With the draw, Arsenal have now fallen out of a Champions league spot and into 5th place, one point behind Liverpool.

QPR Leds The Way With £28,000,000 Signing of Villareal Striker Giuseppe Rossi!

London- Armed with a nearly unlimited chequebook, London club Queens park Rangers went into this transfer period looking to make a big splash, and that is exactly what they did, signing 25 year old Italian-American striker Giuseppe Rossi from Spanish club Villareal. Known for his strong attacking style of play as well as his overall strong technical skills, Rossi immediately makes QPR a threat for the rest of this year, as well as a strong building block for a possible burgeoning English football power. Here's the rest of this period's top signings:

Marseille have sold 25 year old CB Stephane M'Bia to Malaga for £17,000,000

Following a demand to be transferred, Newcastle United had no choice but to sell talented striker Demba Ba to Italian giants Inter Milan for £14,000,000

Malaga have sold 28 year old French midfielder Jeremy Toulalan to Roma for a £11,500,000 price tag.

Bayer Leverkusen have sold 27 year old keeper Rene Adler to rival Hannover 96 for £10,000,000

La Liga's Valencia have sold 26 year old goalkeeper Diego Alves to Hamburger SV of Bundesliga for £10,000,000

Malaga have sold 30 year old forward Julio Baptista to German side Wolfsburg for £8,500,000

Schalke 04 have sold 34 year old striker Raul to Arsenal for £6,000,000

VFB Stuttgart have transferred 24 year old defender Serdar Tasci to rival Schalke 04 for £6,000,000

Manchester United have sold 24 year old Northern Irish defender Jonny Evans to Stoke City for £4,900,000

Re: The Gunners: A Dynasty

After giving it some thought, I've decided to keep this going even if I'm fired at season's end(distinct possibility considering the demands and the injuries). Where I'll end up obviously depends on the available jobs, but Wenger heading back to France where he began his managing career is somewhat intriguing.....

Yakubu's Early Strike Sinks Sagging Gunners

The Emirates- Yakubu's goal in the 20th minute gave visiting Blackburn Rovers all they would need to take down fading Arsenal who lost two more players to injury in a 1-0 defeat here at The Emirates. Theo Walcott and Tomas Rosicky were both injured in the match, and will each be out for about three weeks. On the bright side, midfielder Aaron Ramsey who suffered a broken ankle back in November is just about ready to return and should be back in the lineup soon.
