Re: The Gunners: A Dynasty

The Situation.......not that one.

In what has just been an unlucky season so far, injuries have really really hurt the club. The worst though has been Jack Wilshire's recent one. Since the beginning of the season his overall has increased three points and he's absolutely been our offensive catalyst, time and again making fantastic runs or the perfect pass. Since losing him the offense has been in complete disarray and I'm really beginning to worry that a Europa league spot may be tough.

Sunderland 0-2 Arsenal

Diaby Brilliant In 2-0 Defeat Of Black Cats

Stadium Of Light- Putting to bed any fears of a rapid decline, Arsenal went into a very tough road fixture in even worse weather and came out the victors in a 2-0 defeat of Sunderland here at The Stadium Of Light. With the win, Arsenal moved back into 4th place thanks to a 3-1 Liverpool loss to Manchester United. Turning in a man of the match performance, 25 year old midfielder Abou Diaby was simply brilliant, scoring the first Arsenal goal while also having an all around tremendous game from box to box. Marouane Chamakh also had a goal for the visitors, his 5th on the season.

Swansea City 0-1 Norwich City

Wolverhampton 1-1 West Bromwich

***Following this set of fixtures, Manchester United leads Manchester City on goal differential to hold the top position of the table with 55pts. Chelsea is in third with 51, and Arsenal six points behind them with 45. Fourth thru 10th is a dogfight however, with just seven points separating the 4th place Gunners(45) and 10th place Sunderland(38). At the bottom of the table, Bolton, Wolves, and Norwich really are going to have a hard time avoiding the drop. Each club has just 14 points, nine points shy of 17th place Swansea City.

Round 5
Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal

Rain Soaked Match Ends As Draw

Anfield- On the heels of a much needed victory over Sunderland in the rain, Arsenal followed the weather into Liverpool, where in terrible conditions they were able to earn a 1-1 draw in their F.A. Cup round five showdown with the Reds, forcing a replay at The Emirates just three days from now. Scoreless into the 70th minute, Arsenal stunned the Anfield faithful when Marouane Chamakh gave the Gunners the lead with a stunning shot from 23 yards out that just barely beat an unsuspecting Pepe Reina. Liverpool quickly struck back however, tying the match just 10 minutes later when Dirk Kuyt volleyed home a Steven Gerrard post shot from just inside the box, keeping the Reds alive in the tourney.

Arsenal 0-2 Liverpool

Decimated Arsenal No Match For Reds

The Emirates- Playing their third match in seven days and dealing with yet another injury, this one to Gervinho, the Gunners were no match for a much fresher and much healthier Liverpool squad who easily rolled to a 2-0 victory in the replay of their F.A. Cup round five match. The win is their second of the season here at The Emirates, having won 4-0 back in August. Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard each scored for the Reds, with Gerrard's free kick strike from 19 yards out the standout goal of the match. As for Gervinho, he's most likely done for the season with a broken ankle.
