RAW Week 4 April 2012


The show starts with Big Johnny in his office. He welcomes us to Raw and announces several big matches for tonight. Laurinitias also announces a poll that will be running throughout the show and will give the fans a chance to vote for who they believe will leave Extreme Rules as the WWE Champion, CM Punk or John Cena.

Match 1 Mark Henry vs Alberto Del Rio (w) Ricardo Rodriguez

Mark Henry picked up where he left off last week as he dismantled 1 of his opponents for Extreme Rules this Sunday. Del Rio had a chance to gain revenge after last week’s betrayal but he couldn’t overcome the size and power of the World’s Strongest Man.

Winner – Mark Henry via Pin-fall 4:48


Match 2 Zack Ryder vs Justin Gabriel vs Yoshi Tatsu vs Jinder Mahal vs Brodus Clay vs Heath Slater (Intercontinental No. 1 Contender 6 Man Battle Royal)

Brodus Clay took full advantage of his opportunity to earn the Intercontinental Championship title match at Extreme Rules by dominating this Battle Royal. Clay eliminated 4 out of 5 of his fellow competitors on his way to victory.

Winner - Brodus Clay 3:05




Match 3 Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan (w) AJ LEE

Partners last week and opponents this week, both Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan showed why they will be major contenders in the WWE Championship No.1 Contender match this Sunday. Orton threw almost every move in his arsenal at Bryan which only led to several near falls. Randy went for a different approach to gain the victory when he tried a roll up however a smart reversal from DB got him a roll up of his own and the victory.

Winner – Daniel Bryan via Pin-fall 7:49


Brodus Clay is still buzzing after earning a shot at the Intercontinental Championship earlier in the show as he dances backstage with Cameron and Naomi. The Miz interrupts and claims that he was most must see WWE Champion in history. Miz continues that there is nothing must see about a fat, unoriginal loser with a cheap haircut. Miz says a guy like Brodus will never be able to beat a guy like him because he is The Miz and he is awesome.


Match 4 Kelly Kelly & Alicia Fox vs Beth Phoenix & Natalya

Kelly Kelly pulled off a huge upset as she pinned the Divas Champion only 6 days before their title match on Sunday. Kelly Kelly has overcome the odds 2 weeks in a row, if she can do It 1 more time she will be the new Divas Champion.

Match 5 Dolph Ziggler & Damien Sandow vs CM Punk & John Cena

With the WWE Championship up for grabs this Sunday could CM Punk and John Cena really co-exist? Well they would certainly need to against the unbeaten team of Damien Sandow and Dolph Ziggler if they wanted to be victorious. Sandow and Ziggler had no problem working together as they worked over Punk for a majority of the match. However they could only isolate the champ for so long until he made the tag to a fresh Cena. Sandow immediately performed his finisher M14 on Cena but it was not enough to get the win. Cena fought back with some shoulder blocks, the 5 Knuckle Shuffle and then the Attitude Adjustment to inflict the first defeat on the team of Sandow and Ziggler.

Winner – John Cena and CM Punk via Pin-fall 8:13


After the match Cena helps Punk to his feet but before they can celebrate Jerry Lawler stands up to announce the result of tonight’s poll.



Cena is triumphant in the poll with 78% to Punk’s 22%. CM Punk’s mood quickly changes as he gets in Cena’s face but before anything can kick off John Laurinitias comes out at the top of the ramp. Johhny says that Cena is a 12x World Champion and that he has been the face of the WWE for the past decade. However Johnny says Punk will have a chance to prove who really is the better man this Sunday and makes their WWE title contest an Iron-man match. Cena and Punk are face to face as Raw goes off the air.

Raw Key Moments
• Cena undoubtedly had the momentum heading into the WWE Championship match with Punk but with Raw General Manager John Laurinitias making it an Iron-man match Punk doesn’t even need to win and can retain his title with a draw. How will this change both competitors approach on Sunday?
• Kelly Kelly has defeated arguably the toughest 2 Divas on Raw in consecutive weeks. Will she have Beth Phoenix’s number at Extreme Rules?
• Mark Henry sent out a strong message to his fellow WWE title hopefuls with his dominant victory over Alberto Del Rio. Can the World’s Strongest Man be stopped?
• Brodus Clay earned his first title shot in the WWE but can he take the next step up and defeat the Awesome One to become a champion?
