WWE 2k15 - The Civil War Era

Wrestlemania 29 started off the new era in the WWE. It allstarted after weeks of Vince McMahon taunting a new change was coming at Wrestlemania, and then it happened. At the start of the Show of Shows, Mr.McMahon came down to the ring to announce the newest change in WWE. He called Triple H down to the ring to congratulate him on doing such a fine job runningthe company, but he wanted to see something new in the business. Vince then announced that Triple H would be the general manager of Raw. After Hunter and Vince shook hands and talked for a few seconds Vince said, “Wait that’s not all that’s going to happen here Hunter.”

Vince announced that Raw and SmackDown would be split rosters again and there would be 2 new championships brought back at Wrestlemania tonight, the Women’s and World Tag Team Titles. Triple H looked puzzled and asked, “Who will be running SmackDown?” Vince replied, “The general manager for the brand SmackDown will be non-other than your best friend, and former Degeneration X member, Shawn Michaels.”

Shawn made his way down to the ring with a big smirk on his face and the crowd was going wild. Vince let the two know that there will be ground rules for running both brands which they will discuss backstage. They both will draft in a private draft held tonight before the end of Wrestlemania.

Vince also stated that there would be 9 conjoined PPV’s with draft picks at stake. All of those 9 PPV’s will hold 1 combined brand match where the winner earns a draft trade pick for the night after Wrestlemania. Also the winner of the previous draft match will choose the next draft match at the next combined PPV. Each brand will host 3 of their own PPV’s throughout the year as well.

Vince made it clear that both brands will fight for supremacy each year. Vince left off stating for everyone to check out the WWE.com site following Wrestlemania to see all the info for the new “Era” in WWE.

Triple H and Shawn Michaels both announced their rosters after Wrestlemania 29 on WWE.com. Both GM's announced many superstars returning to the ring such as Sting, Ultimate Warrior, and many more. There will be a draft each year on Raw following the Wrestlemania PPV. 9 PPV's a year will determine how many trades each brand receives. 1 match per those 9 PPV's will have a brand warfare match involved (previous winner chooses next match.) Once a superstar or diva has been traded they can not be traded again until the next year.

As announced by Vince McMahon each brand will split 9 PPVs in which all 9 of those will host a brand vs brand match with the previous winner choosing the match/opponent. Each of those match winners will win a draft pick held on the first Raw of April each year.

Monday Night Raw

Buffalo, NY - Raw was live last night in Buffalo, NY the night after Wrestlemania. Raw kicked off with a bang, and introduced new WWE Champion, John Cena, but it was short lived.


Triple H Spoils Cena's Celebration
As John Cena was celebrating his newly crowned WWE Championship win over the Rock at Wrestlemania, the lights dimmed and Evolution's music hit. Triple H, Randy Orton, Batista, and Ric Flair walked down to the ring to let John Cena know his reign would be short lived. Triple H told Cena as the new GM of Raw, he would make "damn sure" that his brand was superior to SmackDown and that the only reason Cena made the Raw roster was his victory at Wrestlemania 29.

Triple H let the world know that HBK had the first pick and took Daniel Bryan first leaving Triple H forced to John Cena. Triple H set up a match for John Cena vs Batista w/ Ric Flair for the Raw main event.

Kane vs Mark Henry - In a match that set two giant athletes it was a great match. Mark Henry got momentum early in the match and was looking to finish Kane off in the early goings, but Kane had another plan. Just as Mark Henry was going to finish Kane off, Kane reversed Henry to set up a Chokeslam, but Mark kicked out at 2. Kane would never look back, keeping momentum the rest of the match and finishing Mark Henry off with another chokeslam for the 3 count.

Kofi Kingston vs Damien Sandow - Kofi Kingston made quick work of Damien Sandow, who's tag partner was not at Raw tonight. Kofi came out flying as always and kept Sandow down. Kofi hit the Trouble in Paradise only once and put Sandow down for the 1,2,3.

AJ Lee vs Brie Bella - Brie Bella was looking to gain ground on AJ Lee's title reign as the Diva's champ, but was unsuccessful. AJ Lee was dominant the whole match and issued a challenge to any Diva in the back who thinks they stand a chance at taking her title away from her.

Sheamus vs Roman Reigns (Falls Count Anywhere) - This was a non title match featuring Roman Reigns and the US Champion, Sheamus. Roman Reigns was down early in this match, and the Celtic Warrior kept pushing the tempo, even taking this match outside the ring, and using a kendo stick to keep Roman down. Roman Reigns however would fight back after getting a huge swing in momentum after hitting his Superman punch for the second time, but that could not keep Sheamus down. Sheamus hit a second Brogue kick to finish off Roman Reigns. After the match Sheamus was blindsided by the other members of the Shield, Ambrose and Rollins. The three Shield members hit a Triple Powerbomb on Sheamus, leaving the Celtic Warrior laying in the ring.

John Cena vs Batista w/ Ric Flair - A match that did not last long at all. John Cena quickly hit an AA on Batista, forcing Ric Flair to jump in to interfere with the match. After the match John Cena was forced to face Evolution 3 on 1 in a beat down. Leaving Randy Orton holding the WWE title high at center ring.

Looks great, I always love Universe modes that are very focused on the current roster. Just out of curiosity since I'm definitely seeing those parallels between our universes, were you planning on having a third brand before the 25 caw limit? It seems like at least for me theres more of a realistic competition aspect between brands if theres three brands instead of just two.
