Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

QPR travel to St. James Park coming off a disappointing draw in the FA cup vs Aston Villa. A different looking line up for QPR as Wolters has to shuffle the strategy to rest some players. Emmanuel-Thomas is starting up top to give Sylla a rest with LuaLua on his left and the young kid Cook making his second ever appearance on his right.

Midfield is the familiar Morrison but behind him is Manning who is now competing for the starting CDM position since Sandro was sold.

Perch is at RB with Hamalainen making his second start of the season at LB. The three CBs are Robinson (who is usually a LB), Lynch, and the new signing Tafazolli who is making his club debut. Smithies is in goal as usual.

0' Kickoff
And we are under way at St. James Park!
19' Yellow Card -QPR
Manning is beat in the middle of the pitch and is forced to bring his man down from behind giving up the free kick. Rough start to the match for Manning.
36' GOOOAAALLL - QPR 0-1
Perch pressures the Newcastle RB forcing an errant pass back to the CB, a bad first touch sends the ball to Emmanuel-Thomas who happily steals it away. Taking one touch and then finishing with finnese past the keeper.

37' CHANCE - Newcastle
Before QPR could finish celebrating Newcastle are breaking away. Perez splits the CBs and has a great look but sends the ball wide!
64' OFF THE POST - Newcastle
Anita shows off some fine dribbling as he makes Caulker look foolish and creates space in the box. But his shot doesn't bend enough and hits off the post for a goal kick.
87' GOOOAAALLL - Newcastle 1-1
You knew it was coming, Newcastle were all over QPR and taking chance after chance. Finally Ritchie broke through with the luck of a deflection that sent the ball right to him in the box and he quickly taps it in.

4' added on
93' CHANCE - QPR

In what looks to be the finally chance of the match, Cook beats his defender on the right side of the box and sends a high cross in. Emmanuel-Thomas out jumps everyone in the box but sends the header just over the bar.

Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

0' Kickoff
6' GOAL - QPR
Josh Onomah with a quick side step dribble past his defender sends a cross into the box from the left side to find Jamie Mackie at the edge of the 6 yard box. Mackie puts a light touch of the head on it to send it bouncing off the far post and in.
34' CHANCE
Corry Evans finds room just inside the box for an open look but sends it just wide of the post!
48' GOAL - Blackburn
QPR are looking lackluster for the start of the second half, Blackburn take advantage with some quick ball movement on the counter to find Bennett splitting the CBs where he drills it into the top right corner.
50' GOAL - Blackburn
Rovers are on a roll now, this time Bennett sets up the goal by sending a simple cross in, Emnes heads it right at the keeper but the block sends the ball right back to Emnes who taps it in.
62' OWN GOAL - Blackburn
Blackburn cannot stop scoring, but this time it's for QPR. Jamie Mackie dribbles out of room and sends a low, desperate cross in. Mulgrew sticks a foot out to stop the cross and kicks it into the back of his own net!
71' CHANCE
Josh Onomah with a great chance for his first QPR goal as Sylla heads down the cross right at the feet of Onomah but he sends it right into the keepers hands.
85' GOAL - QPR
What a moment! Making his first appearance for QPR, 19 year old Egli Kaja subs on in the 77' and finds himself scoring what looks to be the winning goal. Luongo sends a cross into Sylla who heads it off the post but Kaja is in the right spot to bury the rebound.
89' CHANCE
Blackburn fans are going to remember this one. Darragh Lenihan finds himself in the middle of the box as the ball is bouncing between defenders in a desperate attempt to clear it. The ball rolls right to Lenihan who has a chance to be the hero but he kicks too high and over the bar.
Full time

Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

QPR travel to Aston Villa for a round 4 replay in the FA cup. The first tie ended in a 2-2 draw where Aston Villa came back from behind. This time around Wolters has a tough decision to make for the lineup because QPR have Huddersfield only 3 days later in the league match. Huddersfield are in 1st place, ahead of QPR by 5 pts.

0’ Kickoff
3’ CHANCE QPR were almost off to a perfect start as Luongo found space on the right side for a cross where Morrison was wide open in the middle of the 6 yard box. But Morrison’s powerful header goes straight into the chest of the keeper.
10’ GOOOAAALLL HOGAN! Aston Villa strike first as Scott Hogan does it himself, dribbling through QPR’s two CB’s before drilling a low, power shot into the corner of the net.
33’ GOOOAAALLL and we are level again! Sylla scores his 3rd goal in the FA cup off a soft header from the right corner of the 6 yard box. Morrison set the goal up with a quick roll over dribble to find a window and send the lob cross in.
45’ GOOOAAALLL What a kick!! Houihan puts Villa on top going into the half with a world class free kick from 24 yards out. A power left foot swing sends the ball just over the wall and curving into the top right corner. Smithies had no chance!
48’ SAVE! Aston Villa look to go up 2 early in the 2nd half but Smithies comes through with a great diving save to keep it 2-1.
51’ GOOAAALLL What a match! We are level at 2 after that calmly scored goal by Emmanual-Thomas. ET intercepts a pass back and takes his time to beat Bunn one on one with a light dink off the post.
61’ GOOOAAALL QPR take the lead! ET receives a pass from midfield and turns to face the box, Villa send out their two CB’s to cut him off and he lobs a perfectly played through ball into the box. Luongo receives it on one bounce while Villa defenders call for offside, Luongo powers the ball past Bunn to put QPR ahead.
82’ PENALTY!! Morrison tries to dribble through the box and is brought down by two Aston Villa defenders. A clear penalty as his foot is tripped up by the defender. Big spot for QPR to take complete control of this match.
83’ GOOOAAALLL Sylla steps up to convert the penalty and put QPR ahead 2.
88’ CHANCE Aston Villa are throwing everything they can at the QPR defense in a desperate attempt for a comeback. Hogan finds himself with a great chance on the left side of the box but sends his shot just wide of the post.
94’ Full time. 2-4 QPR hold on for the victory and advance to the next round in the FA cup.

Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

QPR are hosting the top team in the league with Huddersfield coming to town. QPR are on a 2 game winning streak having just beat Aston Villa in the FA cup 3 days prior. Due to the schedule congestion, Wolters is forced to make a few lineup changes.

LB Garmston is making the start in front of LCB Tafazolli. With LW Da Silva starting up top on the left. All three players came into QPR just a month ago and are all under 20 years old.

0' Kickoff
7' CHANCE Brown has a great chance to put Huddersfield on top early but his shot from outside the box goes just wide. Huddersfield Town are coming out with great energy and pressing high to start the match.
39' YELLOW CARD for Furlong with a reckless tackle on the right side of the pitch, awarding Huddersfield with a free kick. The free kick comes into the box but is headed away easily.
45' MISS QPR's first chance to get on the board comes off a corner right before half time but Caulker sends the header over the bar.
54' SAVE What a moment by Danny Ward. The Liverpool loanee was tested from deep by Manning on a low, powerful shot but Ward stretches out and parries the shot away with a diving effort.
55' SAVE It's Smithies turn to come up big for his team. Ayew splits between the CB and RB and tries to beat Smithies near post but the keeper is up for it and makes a diving save.
88' CHANCE What a moment for QPR, the stadium was ready to explode if Onomah's shot would have found the net. But instead the 19 year olds attempt hits the post and is saved off the line by a Huddersfield defender.
92' SAVE Smithies saves the day for QPR yet again. Huddersfield put together one last attempt in the last minutes of the match with some quick passing as they have the QPR defenders scrambling coming back from a corner. Kachunga hits a volley with his left foot but Smithies gets a hand on it and pushes it over the bar.
93' Full time. 0-0.

QPR remain in 2nd place, 5 points off the lead through 30 matches. Nottingham Forest have moved their way up to 3rd place, sitting 3 points behind QPR. The R's host Burton at home in only 2 days, on Valentine's day, Feb 14.

Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

Club News
QPR have announced contract extensions for three of Wolters key players. Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, the 26 year old back up striker has 5 goals in 18 appearances this season. Massimo Luongo, the 24 year old CDM who is the replacement for Sandro as the defensive stopped in midfield. Grant Hall, Hall requested a pay raise and rumors were Wolters was thinking of selling Hall after the club and player could not reach an agreement. But with the latest announcement of captain Steven Caulker requesting a transfer, QPR increased the offer to Hall to keep the CB with the club 3 more seasons.

That brings the second announcement up, 25 year old captain and the highest rated player on the team has requested a transfer. Steven Caulker has made 31 appearances for QPR and is averaging a 7.5 rating. Caulker shocked everyone when he declined a contract extension and asked to leave the club. The timing and the decision are confusing as Caulker requested his move only days after the window closed.

Wolters benched Caulker initially but has been forced to play him a few times due to fatigue and injuries. Wolters has decided to continue playing Caulker to help QPR advance in the FA cup and earn promotion to the Premier League. QPR are pushing to increase the abilities of Caulker, hoping to sell for a larger fee.

Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

QPR are sitting 2nd in the table as they host the last place team in the league, Burton Albion. Wolters has decided to play the "B" side as the Round of 16 matchup in the FA cup is only 3 days away.

0' Kickoff. QPR start with the ball as Emmanuel-Thomas passes back to Raval Morrison to get us started. Burton drop back into a defensive 5-3-2 with 10 men behind the ball. A point here would be huge for the away team.
4' SAVE! QPR go to work quickly with short passes outside the box and a quick cross in to find ET but the Burton keeper is there to make the diving save.
33' POST QPR have been knocking at the door but cannot find the net. This time ET beats the keeper but hits the left post and then the right post as the ball slowly rolls on the goal line.
45' Half time. Burton have been on the defensive all half but still have kept the score 0-0. QPR have had 7 chances but 0 goals.
49' CHANCE for Burton, coming out quickly to start the half, Inita shoots from distance but Ingram is able to get a glove on it.
67' PENALTY Cook chases down the long ball and turns into the box, the Burton defender tackles him from behind earning a yellow card and a penalty awarded to QPR.
68' SAVE Emmanuel-Thomas penalty is a good one, low and hard into the bottom right corner but the keeper guesses right and saves the chance.
78' GOOOAAALLL The QPR sub comes up big to put the R's on the board. Kaja subs in for Morrison and minutes later receives a low cross in from Cousins and scores from the penalty spot.
88' SAVE Ingram saves the 3pts for QPR as Burton have one last chance and the backup QPR keeper pushes the ball over the bar.
93' Final. QPR come away with a tough 1-0 victory to stay in 2nd place in the table.

Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

Table Update

With less than 15 weeks remaining in the season, QPR are only 2pts behind the league leaders and have a game in hand. But Wolters will not look ahead as he is only focused on the next match, the Round of 16 match of the FA cup vs Premier League side Bournemouth.

The next matches for the top 3 clubs are a pretty even breakdown but QPR have three big matches with Wigan, Cardiff and Leeds United in their way.

Next 5 matches for top 3 teams
Huddersfield – Barnsley (a), Newcastle (h), Aston Villa (h), Brentford (a), Bristol City (a),
QPR – Birmingham City (a), Wigan (h), Cardiff (h), Barnsley (h), Leeds (a),
Sheffield Wed – Leeds United (a), Brentford (h), Norwich (h), Burton (h), Aston Villa (a)

Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

QPR have made it to the Round of 16 of the FA Cup, a round farther than the board set as a goal for Wolters to start the season. QPR travel to Bournemouth for the round 5 match. QPR previously beat Ipswich and Aston Villa in the early rounds of the cup while Bournemouth beat Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday.

0' Kickoff. Wolters puts out his best XI in this one hoping QPR can pull off the upset.
3' GOOAAALLL Bournemouth off to a quick start as Arter receives the pass from the edge of the box, pulls a quick pivot turn and hits the left footed shot off the post and into the net.
30' GOOAALLL QPR respond and of course it's Sylla. His 5th FA cup goal of the season. Onomah sends a high cross in, defender deflects it but Sylla is there to tap it in.
31' GOOOAALLL Wilshere gives the Premier League side the lead again. Heading a low cross between Smithies and the post.
56' GOOALLL Arter with his second! Bournemouth go up 2 as Arter scores on the quick counter attack with a beautiful low header.
64' POST! Onomah takes a chance from long, beats the keeper but hits the post.
72' GOOALL QPR are climbing back. Ngbakoto starts the counter with a long pass down the left side, he chases down the middle of the pitch and receives the ball back as he enters the box. Easy shot into an open net.
76' GOOOAAALL Negrado puts the Cherries up 2 again. Bournemouth have been on their heels this second half but another quick counter gives them a 4th goal.
85' SAVE! Boruc comes up with his 8th save of the match, deflecting Sylla's shot over the bar.
91' POST! QPR hit the post for the 3rd time in the second half. It is not their day today.
95' Final. 4-2 Bournemouth.
